Is this amount of rattle and play normal in a CZ SP01?

Why don't you clip your fucking fingernails you disgusting shut in? Clean yourself up then go outside and actually shoot the thing

Yes rattling is normal in CZs

The magazines rattle too when a odd number of rounds are loaded in them.

Because it's for guitar autist

I have no mag in the gun in the vid, but I have had a few CZ owners tell me their guns don't do this. I'm not really sure what to expect or do, it's my first pistol.

Its totally fine.

All handguns rattle on some level. Unless its some custom 1911 that was made to be as tight as possible.

OP, rattle is normal. I think the added weight at the muzzle is making the barrel rattle a bit more than ones without the longer threaded barrel. But it seems fine. Here's some vids of my CZ SP-01 rattling a bit, although my phone mic sucks ass a bit.

I rechecked my sp-01after the last post on, and i have no such wobble anywhere on my gun.

CZ offers a warranty on manufacturing defects; as i legitimately think ur slide was milled incorrectly.
>>
>>30660152
Since I've had the gun for one day if I was going to do that I would just take it back to gunco and bitch.

I don't want to fuck with the manufacturer, they're libel to take 5 weeks and just replace something or not fix it etc.

Here's the slide test.

Full disclosure, I've polished the bearing surfaces on the slide that interact with the frame. While all I did was polish it (minimal to no material removal) I just wanted to be clear that this gun isn't stock.

The slide one in particular is just a very minor amount of play allowing the slide to move vertically at the muzzle end. Honestly, I'm surprised yours has no such noise. Either way mine works just fine, there's absolutely no issues when I'm shooting it.

>>30660467
My sp-01 only has exactly 500 Rds through it though.
Perhaps the play increases with age.

Accuracy is good even in my noob hands
OPs gun makes wayyy to much noise to be normal.
>>
>>30660534
What kind of guide rod is in yours?

The only way I can get mine to be as noisy as it was in my videos was to shake it vigorously. Just normal handling/aiming/swinging doesn't produce as much of a ruckus, and I think what noise it does make might just be my stainless steel guide rod slapping against the slide, which makes sense given that it's only anchored at one end.
>>
>>30660597
I have the stock plastic rod.
I was told by the CZ forums not to use a stainless rod.

Wonder is OP has the stainless rod as well
>>
>>30660660
Me again - Another thing could be the use of a weaker spring.
People usually use a weaker spring alongside a steel guide rod.
A weaker spring would out less pressure on the barrel and could potentially make it wobble more
>>
>>30660318
Lmao Czech piece of fuck

How old is yours? Mine is brand new and stock.

I assume you get side to side rattle without mag in also?
>>
>>30660660
Op here. Gun is brand new and completely stock. Less than 15 rounds through it.
>>
>>30660758
>>30660747

Mine is pretty damn close to new. Probably around 700 rounds right now. Got it about a month and a half ago.

I've polished the rails on the slide, replaced the recoil spring and guide rod (recoil spring is much lighter, as the one guy was guessing), hammer spring, and firing pin w/ firing pin spring.

I've played with it some more and can say that the slide does not rattle at all unless I'm specifically applying force to it like in the last video. The overwhelming majority of the sounds you can hear when I shake mine are the steel guide rod slapping against the other parts of the slide or frame. holding the guide rod while shaking it muffles pretty much all of the noise. I think the last bit of sound (including what I get from side-to-side) is the barrel, which as the other guy suggested may not be held as still because of the weaker recoil spring. If I hold the gun from the muzzle end, I get absolutely no sound no matter how hard I shake.
>>
>>30660867
So yours is modded and would cause way more noise and still doesn't rattle as much as my stock one?

Damn think I'm making a trip to gunCo soon
>>
>>30660770
Does it have the stock plastic guide rod?
>>
>>30660895
Yes. I haven't even disassembled the gun yet. Bone stock.
>>
>>30660893
Yeah I'm starting to think you're right. The only variable I can think of is the longer threaded barrel. I have no idea how much that would contribute to the noise but it seems a bit excessive.

Best of luck in finding a solution man. I love the shit out of my SP-01, I hope you can get one that works out for you.
>>
>>30660907
Disassemble it and take a pic of the guide rod and spring.

I have a feeling something is screwy with urs
>>
>>30660956

My P-01 does the thing in the 3rd vid, so I think it's just the extended barrel making that noise on yours.

Most probably a quirk of the browning design, nothing to worry about.
>>
>>30661947
I think it is the slide to frame fit. Clamping the front of the slide and bottom rail and shaking produces no noise that I could hear.

As long as I know this isn't going to be stupid to walk into KYgunco and rattle my gun.

>>30661954
I wouldn't be worried if everyone said their CZs did this but most I've seen say theirs do not.
>>
Overall, I highly suspect that the function of your gun will not be affected. You've probably got a bit more clearance in your gun that some of the others have. I don't think it's a function problem tho. But even so, if it bothers you, I don't think you'd be in the wrong to contact someone to see if anything can be done about it. At the same time, because it probably doesn't affect the operation of the gun, I wouldn't get your hopes up too much.

When the gun is cocked, I get the same rattle.

It's normal.

I broke in my P-01 by feeding it a tin of tulammo 9mm.

There's nothing wrong with your gun if it works properly.
>>
>>30662171
I'm not sure if accuracy is going to be affected by my rattle, also mine rattles cocked or uncocked.

Besides a gun can work properly (fire) and still have issues no?
>>
>>30662215

Put your gun in a rest and group with it, if it groups at the POA then congrats you have a working gat.

My friend has a WW2 1911 that rattles like the slide will fall off, but it puts .45" sized holes in paper at where it's pointed.

I wish I had a rest and vice, unfortunately I'll just have to rest it on my 4x4 or something.

A decent gun range will rent you one.

What does the target look like in your CZ case? Should be reasonably accurate at 25m.

Have the czcustom tactical sights and VZ frag black grips.

If you have an issue, take it to a gun smith or use your warranty.

That being said, OP's gun is probably fine. Shoot a few hundred rounds through it and see how you feel then once it fully breaks in.
>>
>>30666016
Wait what? So like a registry? I didn't think it worked like that.

>>30666026
Let's hope. It just irks me to death especially since it's brand fucking new. If accuracy is spot on and function is okay I guess I just have to get over it.

I do wonder however if problems arose or I did send it to CZ in the future how they would go about righting the firearm? If the frame and slide happened to be both milled incorrectly and they needed to send a new gun, how would they do so considering it's a limited time store exclusive?
>>
>>30666050
>how they would go about righting the firearm?

If it is milled incorrectly, they would probably refit you a new frame or something.

It cant hurt to contact them. Of course if it functions flawlessly they may say it is a non-issue.

>>30666097
Funny, my fathers new Springfield 1911 literally doesn't make a sound when violently shaken exactly like my CZ. Nothing. Solid as hell.

Don't polymer guns actually tend to rattle MORE than metal? Since the slide to frame fit is typically looser?

>>
>>30666156
Well it seems that some rattling is certainly acceptable, at least according to some here.

I'm disappointed that mine rattles when some apparently have guns that don't but oh well.

>>30666166
Interesting. I really did not know that guns were like that, genuinely surprised to be honest.

That still has me wondering how in the future they would replace a gun that is a limited run store exclusive. Very odd.

Do gun companies make no exceptions even when the purchase date of the item was so short ago? I mean I did literally purchase it yesterday.
>>
>>30666196
call them and ask.

http://cz-usa.com/support/warranty/
>>
>>30666222
I may email for curiosity sake but I do not feel like asking any particular questions about my gun or starting any sort of warrant process. I know how that shit goes, you go weeks without your gun and pray that they do a good clean job and it's still never the same as when you get it new.

As mentioned if there are any actual problems I will likely try gunco first and if that doesn't work go through CZ only as a last resort if there are actually issues.

But I'm hoping that the gun will actually be okay judging by some other posts and people with rattling guns.

>>
Also on further inspection shaking the gun up and down has no rattle it's only when shaken side to side. It is 99 percent sure to be slide to frame fit. Since I can click it left to right without shaking the gun and yield a similar noise.
