Hello,

Recently I was annoyed by the "poorfag guide to guns" that floats around here. So I decided to make my own.

For the last few minutes I've been working on it by myself.... However, with your input and suggestions, I think the end product will be better than anything I alone can make.

So, what should I add?

Instead of a Hi Point the better deal would be to look for an old police trade in handgun. I got this trade in Jericho 941FS for less than $250 shipped. You can't conceal a Hi Point unless you wear clothes 4 sizes too big anyway so that's a moot point.
>>
>>30656660
Ok, I'll add that + plugs

what other guns would you put on it?

the thing with surplus/trade-ins is that they are not always available.
>>
>>30657059
A cheap <$200 .22 for being not shit at marksmanship?
>>
>>30657075
hm, yeah I'll add a 10/22 to the list. It'll go in the appleseed box.
>>
>>30657100
Marlin 60/795 is cheaper and works just as fine if you're not planning on putting shit on them, which defeats the purpose of 'budget guns' to begin with.
>>
>>30656635
I'm going to guess you bought a hi-point or some other cheap Jamal tier handgun and got triggered by that guide
>>
>>30657184
not him but the other guide is garbage.
It unironically reccomends black powder firearms, .22 for self defense, and AKs as "budget" in spite of their inflated market
>>
>>30656635
do NOT BUY A HI POINT. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT DO IT.

Buy used pistols, research what you want to buy, just take it apart and make sure it isn't broke and you'll be fine. Do NOT buy a hi-point. Fuck.

Used p250s (in my area) go for around 250. 17s are kinda cheap but don't buy a gun because someone recommended it to you, buy a gun because you like the way it feels in your hand, like the trigger etc.

Do not EVER buy a hi-point.
>>
>>30657075
Savage Mk II for a bolt action .22, the FV heavy barrel can be had for less than $200

You can get handfuns 1000x better than a hipoint c9 for just a little bit more or around the same price. Don't push a jammomatic. The point of a poorfag gun guide is to show the best bang for your buck. Not what you can buy after robbing a corner store cash drawer.

such as.....?

sure, there are nice zastava 9mm handguns for $220, but you sure as hell aren't going to find spare parts or extra mags for cheap.

>>30657184
nope

>>30657232
people are not going to buy a $150 handgun because the trigger is nice. People will buy $150 handguns because they need to defend themselves on a budget.

hi-points are staying on the list, sorry :^)

>>30657332
I'll add it

Zastava M57 (7.62x25) can be found around $250
There's a 9mm version, but I've read those have problems
>>
>>30657500
The Hi Point carbine won't take C-9 mags. You might be able to fit a carbine 10-round mag in a C-9, but not the other way around.

>Marlin Model 60 or 795 has already been suggested in this thread, is cheaper, and only disadvantage is it doesn't have the giant aftermarket the 10/22 does

Hell even PSA sells glock/mossberg 500 combos every fourth of July for 500 bucks. You're seriously just either not trying or being paid by hipoint to make this thread.
Either way 2/10 made me reply

half of the suggestions?

there have been 3 so far. And I'm adding all of them
(savage, zastava, 10/22)

who would have know that including a hi point on a "budget guns" list could cause so much salt

wew

did I ever imply I was not going to add it? I'm just posting updates along the way

Good job ignoring the reasoning you fag. People have suggested better options that cost almost the same and all you've done is plug your ears and scream HI POINT HI POINT
>>
>>30656635
switch hi point for either a Canik or any of the surplus guns that have come in recently like pre-b CZs, Hi powers, Jerichos, etc

You can get them all for sub $300
>>
>>30656635
Hi points work, but they're still garbage
>>
>>30657232
There is literally nothing wrong with the hi-point. The 995 is great, you shouldn't constantly be thinking in memes.

>>
>>30657865
Tbh I wouldn't include any surplus gats since most of them aren't being imported anymore and will dry up(unless trump gets elected and takes of the sanctions).
>>
>>30657865
Take Radical firearms out of the Prebuilt ARs

They're total shit, really only S&W should be on there for prebuild cheap ones, or the Ruger AR556

PSA part is solid
>>
>>30658607
Really?
I thought that Radical stuff was on par with PTAC or the likes

Delton Sport too famalam
>>
>>30658864
Do you mean delton makes good ARs or bad?

I've seen reports of both
>>
>>30658932
My Delton kit is pretty alright. I was missing one of the detents in my kitchen, but other than that, it's fine.
>>
I ain't no expert but does cheap Mossberg shotguns not deserve a place on this chart?
What's with that Chinese gun.
>>
>>30659021
I added the maverick, don't worry
>>
In addition to what you've got listed, it's probably worth putting the SD9VE and Maverick 88 on there.
>>
>>30656635
OP start listing cheap stuff to avoid like Bryco, Jennings, Jimenez, EAA, etc.
Some people also buy derringers. Put that on the list not to get as well as .22 prop guns.

Personally, I would replace the cheap shotgun with the H&R P3 since I see them for sub $200 often.
>>
>>30659399
Ok

About the shotguns - the 88, pardner, and Hawk are all great shotguns - and I've seen all of them for $170 shipped at one time or another. I'll add all three I suppose, with a little blurb about what differentiates them.

imo the hawk is the best out of the three, but any of em would be fine for HD.

Although - didn't the pardner have an issue with weak welds on the action bar? Did they ever fix that?
>>
>>30659947
The one I have works fine, but I guess they dont look as clean.

Don't have a pic for some reason.
>>
I've added the parder, the 88, tp9, shield, LCP, and that one sw 9mm.

For every photo I have to make the white space transparent.... It's getting annoying

Ah well.
At $400 the sks still belongs on the list, no?

The problem is you eventually get into the territory of "save 150/50/200 bucks more and get an AR...." WhIch isn't wrong, per say
>>
>>30656635
Make sure you discuss used guns. I have a old US Revolver Co (brand built by Iver Johnson) top break that was 100 bucks. And tommorow I'm buying an old H&R model 622 for 95.

It's nice to have a god tier LGS.
>>
>>30656635
No surplus?

Ive got enough surplus to outfit an army.
Its the poorfags arsenal starter.
>>
Trigger is shit, but sccy gen 2 is rock solid and can be found new for $250 with an UNLIMITED warranty. Fits all rules so even people in Commiefornia and Assachusetts can own it.

Also, Slav shit.
>>
>>30657232
No one buys a hipoint cause they want too.
Its more of a need too kind of pistol.

Or you want something you can literally throw away.
>>
>>30657379
Hi points arent jam-o-matics.

Every one that ive shot worked fine.
They are heavy, ugly ,and resemble bricks but they usually work.

And if your wondering ive shoot about a dozen of them. They always showed up at my gun club after we enroll new menbers.

That's about it, I listed not-shit guns you can get for affordable prices. If I did not directly list it don't fuck with it. No, I don't give a fuck about your Hi-Point C9 or grandpappy's J.C. Higgins because they're shit.
Now that doesn't mean you can't get good deals or to disregard certain things like a decent milsurp or something like that, but no Taurus, no Phoenix Arms, no Jimenez, no Jennings.

Rule of thumb when buying a cheap gun: Ask yourself "would a nigger have this?" If yes GTFO

Im glad to see the radom on someones list, i put replacment sorings in mine and it improved it alot but it was certainly not essential.

The late model H&R stuff is sweet.

Cheap and damn near indestructible.
Ive got a 732 and ive been trying to pick up one if their .22 pistols.

I paid $100 for the 732 and its a nice ankle gun.

For entry rifles the Smith and Wesson m&p15/22 can get newbies introduced to an ar style rifle with the near 0 recoil of 22lr. That and of course the 10/22, but I always hated the way the 10/22 looks
