Hey /k/. I recently went to my LGS to shop around and price check. I found that a Walther PPQ M2 fit my hand better than most. (the only better one being a CZ-75, but i have too difficult of a time racking those recessed slides) The only thing that ended up turning me off to this store or firearm is the price of $664 before tax. Furthermore, I found out that this particular store wanted $75 for a transfer fee, which i know is way too much.
So my questions to you would be: is this base price reasonable? If not, what is?
Would it even be that much cheaper to just buy one online and transfer it to a different store with a cheaper transfer fee or would it come out to the same amount?

Try the Jericho.
Huge rip-off on both counts, keep shopping around. The only PPQ that goes for that much is the M2 Match, the rest are around 560 new. Make sure it's the M2 if you get one, they fixed a lot of problems on that model. Transfer fees are normally $25 here. The LGS in my city bank on stupid people walking into the store and buying anything. One of them had an ISSC M2 (.22 Glock clone with no warranty) listed at 550 when you can get one factory new for 250.
Step 1: Pray to Taytay, the one true god at the sacred shrine of Applebees.
Step 2: Check out a different gun store, or armslist, or backpage. It sounds like this one sucks, or at least is intent on making every penny they can off you.
Have you considered a Canik TP9? If $$$ is a concern, it might be a good option.
OP are you still with us?
Have you considered buying used?

Eat your fucking guns, please.

Thats what ive been telling him but he wont stop Tay posting.
The margin on guns to be "competitive" is about 15% above dealer cost. That PPQ is about 30% above cost, which is pretty bad.

are you going off of MSRP?
Guns are for cop-loving white people.
You aren't a cop-loving, Trump supporting, white cuck are you?

I typically use gunbroker to gauge pricing on what things will sell for. If there are brick and mortar FFLs listing the PPQ M2 there for $545.00 (buy it now price) then you can probably find somewhere near you which is +/- $20 of that.

mwhahaha, I'm not the only one
used guns are selling for around $500 btw, see if you can do a F2F and save yourself $200.

Are you saying $664 for the Walther? Thats way high compared to what I see by me
>>30657350
yeah ill go check other stores next weekend. all of them are closed today
>>30657150
No, as rarely do people go by MSRP. I'm going off of distributor cost where most gun stores even the big box ones get their merchandise . For example, the Glock 43 costs $393 from distribution, which we then sell for 475 , a 42 costs about 313 which we sell for 425.
The profit margins are a lot lower than people think they are, which is why you will find small gunstores charging a lot for guns - they need to, to survive in most cases

>M2
Lmao

whats wrong with the M2?

Nothing, this person is just a troll who prefers to use snarky meme arrows instead of stating an argument. Likely they picked up the first generation for cheap and now need to convince themselves they didn't make a poor choice at every given opportunity.

I could be wrong but I swear I though those ran around $450 regular price by me
>>30656053
Get the classic version, it's got the better mag release. Also apex trigger is dog's bollocks

My LGS lists then at $520 for the M2, I think the M1 is cheaper.
