So with Arsenal SLR-107's being completely gone, I'm trying to decide which first AK to buy. I want something which can stand the test of time and is relatively cheap to work on, being on a student budget. My budget is approx 1400$.
Is centurys cq good enough with the C39V2's? Or is maybe and NPap or an IO a better option. The C39 goes for about 860$ and I figured maybe I could get a handgun as well, a CZ-85.

Appreciate your opinions, especially sonce the market is pretty volataile as of late

WASR

Stay well the fuck away from IO. wasr or another arsenal are probably your safest bets for a good ak. I've heard mixed things about the c39s

WASR
>>
>>30636988
WASR, NPAP, DDI if you don't care about crome, or a Arsenal.
>>
>>30637039

WASR every bit as good as Arsenal, better customer service too
>>
>>30636988
Century imported, like WASR: usually OK
Century manufactured, like C39: RUN AWAY
>>
Just buy a WASR and paint over the hideous parkerizing with some Alumahyde or high heat spray paint.

You may want to consider replacing the wood for some better surplus wood, or polymer.
>>
Wasr on gunbroker for 700$ right now. If you really want it go now it's got less than 6 minutes left, no bids.

what's wrong with the century c39? I was thinking about that... I thought it was James Yeager approved

What happened to them, did they stop importing them?
>>
>>30636988
get out of here badger.
>>
>>30637363
.MIL contracts few left to send to us.
>>
>>30637248
Why does buck angel approved mean anything?
Hardness tests show everything but the barrel is wrong and the headspacing will not last.
>>
>>30636988
Don't buy any
>>
Op here again, fingerfucked a few WASRs today and they were all wobbly as fuck. Don't get me wrong, it might just be a few bad models, but it certainly put me off. From what I've read and seen on AKOU the C39V2 seems like a solid choice. The NPAP is also century, so why is that one advantageous?
>>
>>30637087
What makes you say that? AKOU kinda slaughtered them
>>
>>30637965
You mean this one saying its the best starter AK?

The WASR and NPAP are made on former military machinery and are in proper specs.
The RAS47 and C39 are not the metal for the bolt, carrier, and receiver are to soft only the barrel is properly hardened.
>>
>>30638009
I mean at their post 5k rounds. Duct tape and ruined irons
>>
>>30638044
you are confusing the WASR and RAS47
>>
>>30638044
That was the RAS47

Saiga or vepr, still the only good options. Those arsenals were always chintzy.
>>
>>30636988
Arsenal SAM7 is around $1400 and I'd much rather have one of those than the SLR107

Anything cheaper than that just get a WASR or buy a parts kit and the tools to build your own which would cost less than $1400.

>>30638078
>>30638044
I still dont understand why people keep mixing up the ras47 and the wasr10.
>>
>>30638035
Ok, so WASR, Npap, or DDI, and what should I be expecting to pay for them, ballpark? Heading to crossroads of the west tomorrow, So might just pick one up
>>
Whats the best AK in general? china?
>>
>>30638104
If you see an OPAP grab it over the NPAP. Just saying.
>>
>>30638104
~600 for the wasr or npap
~800 for the ddi
~1200 for a arsenal
All prices will change based on locality and jewery of the seller.
>>
>>30636988
Get a arsenal sam7 series
>>
>>30638138
I thought Opaps were inferior to the Npap?
>>
>>30636988
jemak
>>
>>30638814
NPAP~600
OPAP~7-800
Why would you assume the cheaper one was better?
>>
>>30638814
They're both nice.

The first generation of N-PAPs with the railed dust cover were garbage due to the single stack bolt - no longer a problem on newer ones.

N-PAP and O-PAP are both comparable in quality in my experience. The biggest distinction is if you want an RPK receiver (OPAP) or not (NPAP)
