I need your help, /k/.

I'm a left-leaning 2A advocate living in California. Last year I built an AR-15 by watchin' the vids on YT. I started with an 80% lower that I had finished at a local CNC. Now I want to do the same thing, only this time I want to build a 1911. The problem is that I can't find a CNC shop set up for that platform and I need advice as to how hard it is to use a drill press to finish a lower.

Pic is my AR build.
>>
>>30621374
you are not building a 1911 with just a drillpress
>>
>>30621374
why dotnĀ“t you just buy a ready 1911 frame?
>>
OP, ignore grandpa fucktard here.

>>30621391

Look up the Ares Armor Rudius 1911, the 80% frame includes a jig for working with a drill press.

Because reasons.

>>30621481

I am a member of the largest Liberal 2A group in the country, and I regularly advocate locally, and on a state level, for 2A issues.
>>
>>30621450

I see the .pdf file, but the actual jig doesn't seem to be for sale on the site.

Anybody know if the new law here in california will require 80% 1911 builds to be registered as well?
>>
>>30621374
nice job fag, you just admitted to a crime. if you have a dog i'd go to the gearnigger thread and see if there's a k9 plate carrier.

80% build at local cnc wot
>>
>>30621671

LOL! Sorry, but no crimes were committed by me. I researched federal, state, and local laws before embarking on this endeavor.

Thanks for playing.

>>
>>30621374
You are either left, or a pro 2A

You literally cannot be both
>>
>>30621803

Was your CNC an FFL/SOT? It's illegal for someone else to finish a 80% lower for you.
>>
>>30621859
I rented the CNC, locked the 80% into the jig, and pressed the start button.
>>
>>30621829
This is a fallacy perpetuated by /k/, the NRA, and political neophytes.

That's about arming people in non-communist countries to overthrow the government.

Name one communist government that's in favor of arming their own populace.

>>

You're supposed to serialize any home built firearms and send a form to the DOJ to register them after manufacturing. Nobody does it, but the law exists. Can't recall number designation for it.
>>
>>30625128
I know the reg you're talking about but IIRC it didn't deal with manufacturing requirements.

Considering the legislature passed a registration and serial requirement, I'd say their (and supreme negress Harris) interpretation is none is currently required.
>>
>>30623950
It's either that or one of those magazine shaped blocks of plastic that acts as a chamber flag.
>>
>>30625128
I found the reg, it deals with altering serial numbers or replacing damaged serials. No requirement to mark, although elsewhere in the code no one may transfer a pistol without requisite marking information.

23900. Any person who changes, alters, removes, or obliterates the
name of the maker, model, manufacturer's number, or other mark of
identification, including any distinguishing number or mark assigned
by the Department of Justice, on any pistol, revolver, or any other
firearm, without first having secured written permission from the
department to make that change, alteration, or removal shall be
punished by imprisonment pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170.
23910. The Department of Justice upon request may assign a
distinguishing number or mark of identification to any firearm
whenever the firearm lacks a manufacturer's number or other mark of
identification, or whenever the manufacturer's number or other mark
of identification or a distinguishing number or mark assigned by the
department has been destroyed or obliterated.

Nope, just a jig in addition

OP; here you go. All you need to finish it, is a drill press, and the jig I'm also linking. Also, the jig can be used to build a Sig P229 too. If I were you I'd do the Sig first because you dont need to fit the beavertail or do any lapping on the rails.

How much does it cost to build a full 1911 and what tools do you need?

It looks significantly harder than building an AR from what i'm seeing.
>>
>>30625716
What pronoun should we use for you?
>>
>>30625917
Once again check that link, it includes everything you need; except:

>2 or 3 metal files
>lapping compound
>several 1911 tools totaling ~$100.

But by building one like this, it will end up better quality than a WC if done right. These kits are to build match grade pistols, not bargain bin RIAs.

If you want a cheap 80% handgun, do the P229.

>$650 frame and jig + several tools
http://www.matrixprecisionparts.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6&products_id=81
>$300 small parts

So to finish an 80% Sig P229, it only takes $950.

Why the fuck do we care what way you lean you hippie fuck. The left is why you need "2A advocates". The fact that Americans have to advocate for their basic rights blows my mother fucking mind.

There is no longer room for moderacy. It has allowed the vocal fringes to dictate the terms.

Catalonia under the CNT-FAI. Not every leftist is authoritarian or an advocate of centralized state planning/authority.
