My answer to your question though would be, look at the steels they're made up of, figure out the twist rate you want, the barrel length, the gas system length, the caliber, whether you want it in stainless, whether you want it chambered in 5.56 or .223 Wylde or plain .223, etc.
Once you figure that out, it may or may not narrow down what you're looking for. At that point, I would say that your budget it going to dictate your choice of the available choices that you've narrowed down through that criteria.

Good job chambering (smooth, tight, good neck/leade), consistent rifling, consistent bore diameter, if the bore wanders any its timed to 12 o'clock.
PSA makes both good and bad barrels. Their premium ones are very good, their carbon steel Freedom barrels are good for the money, and their PTAC barrels are shit.
You generally have to choose between great accuracy and great longevity. Chrome lined CHF barrels last the longest but sacrifice a small amount of accuracy, cut rifled stainless barrels wear very fast but are the most accurate. A button rifled 4150cmv barrel thats either unlined or melonited is a middle ground. Decently accurate, good longevity.
Unless you're willing to spend the money on a semicustom barrel from a known accuracy company like Kreiger, Bartlein, Brux, Pac Nor, and a few others but want an accurate barrel, Ballistic Advantage has a 1 moa guarantee.
Profile is largely personal preference, but avoid govt profile. Its bad at everything.

It's a general-purpose rifle, inspired by the Colt Canada C7A2 and USMC M16A4 PIP. I went with the fixed FSB so that the front sight was attached to the barrel, not the handguard. It should be really smooth-shooting with the 18" rifle gas barrel and A5 receiver extension and Warcomp, and it's still a reasonable size; it should be only 1" longer than an AK74, and that's with the stock all the way out.

Both myself, MSD, and D60 are running PA MD ADS with the Tango Down covers. The total with the TD cover and a cheaper PA mount is right around $200.
The other comparable red dots in that price range are the Vortex SPARC II and the SPARC AR. I think Sig might also have a similar red dot in that price range. I've not tried the SPARC AR or the Sig, but I did try out the SPARC II and I ended up returning it because it was simply inferior to the PA MD ADS. The 3D footprint/profile of the PA MD ADS is smaller, yet the field of vision is larger and less obstructed as compared to the SPARC II.
I believe both are comparable in terms of durability, but the kicker for me was that the SPARC II did not have the fine brightness adjustments that I want. You want the red dot to be just bright enough, but not overly bright to wash out your target. The SPARC II has less granularity in its brightness adjustment so you can't dial it in as well as the PA.

It is a bit weighty, no lie. I held one at Cabela's as I've been investigating this build, and the trigger guard is voluptuous, the whole thing feels really nice.
Looking at them side by side, though, I am leaning towards the CMT as well... it is even more low key, and is probably far lighter, not to mention it's half the cost and AIM has it in stock for free shipping.

I just ordered a DD Lite II today lol, I wanted to stick with quads but I wanted a lighter improvement over my LaRue quads. I don't know, quadrails make my dick diamonds and keymod and mlok don't do anything for me.
I think mlok is the better choice, but I think keymod looks way better. I almost went with the KMR but my lust for quads won out.
