1) the law has an exception for reservists, which is defined by domestic law (so you're good there)
2) You, the Finns, Sweden (lol irony), the Czech Republic, the French EPP delegation, Slovenia, etc... all consider the semi-auto ban to be "unworkable". It's not gonna pass the Yuro Parliament, and desu, the semi-auto ban is being pushed by the UK anyway, and they're leaving anyway.

They are gonna make a test if you know the language good enough, not german but swiss German. I didn't had to do it because i wen't to school here but you would have to visit german classes and paying them is even a bigger pain in the ass.

Using the Euro is not an obligation for any EU country, it's a choice. Applying the law isn't.
