For what use?

Get yourself a full tang knife for knifey things. I have a Finnish puukko, it's well made, cannot break, lasts forever, stays sharp decently well. Like any blade you need to sharpen it and such every now and then. Love it and it loves you back.

Leatherman multi-tool if you want something else. Tighten screws, cut wires, open beer bottles etc.

Please check the catalog before making threads.

ZT's folders are sturdy and use good materials but they're folding crowbars and are generally overpriced. Pretty much every folder they make costs as much as or more than an S30V BM940, and I'd rather just have the 940.
>>
Zero Tollerance is a KAI brand, same as Kershaw. They are built using premium materials and have a above average fit and finish. They are robust and durable, are well made and at the high end of a machine made knife. They are also overpriced, have an air of broski about them. I mean urban camo is something I would expect to see in a budk catalog, not a pro level knife. They lack any subtlety or nuance. They look like they were designed to appeal to a buyer that knows nothing about knives who wishes to impress friends who know nothing about knives.

Save yourself some money and get a knife, not a marketing generated arfcom status symbol.
>>
I have a 0350 its a good knife built like a tank and can be made hair shaving sharp with minimal effort
>>
>>30618633
It's one of those ozark trail $4 folders. Works fine for me.
>>
>>30618313

Well-built, but as a rule they use fuckoff thick blade stock and leave it thick behind the edge. In other words, they're durable, but they cut like shit, and I say this as someone who's owned 5+ ZTs. If you want something "hard use" get a Paramilitary 2, or a large Griptilian. If you still want a ZT, get one used, and have it reground by a professional.

>>
>>30619007

If your definition of "hard use" involves a fuckton of prying, sure, I would agree with you. At that point you should suck it up and buy a Leatherman/Swisstool/etc, or a dedicated prying tool. Personally, I carried the PM2 for a summer of pretty heavy farm work, and not once did I ever worry about the tip getting damaged. Hell, I even nicked it off metal poles a few times, and the end result was just a few minutes extra spent sharpening.

Hey OP, ill give ya a straight answer.
Ive had a zt0566 and now a 560. ZTs elmax is fuckin wonderful. Easily beats my benchmade in 154cm and my vg10 spydie caly. The 566 was heavy, people here seem to think thats a bad thing, they must be hungry skeletons if they really have trouble carrying any pocket knife. To me it felt a lot more solid for the weight. The 560 is very light with the titanium handles, but it is every part as solid as its all steel little brother. The action is smooth as fuck with the kvt bearings, beats benchmade thrust bearings and opens smoother than my caly 3. I have nothing bad to say about my experience with ZT, they are wonderful knives. All the autists on here that think you should only buy the cheapest option are ignorant faggots. I got my 560 for 130 bucks on ebay. You can find good deals if you just look around.
>>
>>30618313

ZT is just a "premium line" that is Kershaw in disguise.

It is literally the sales notion that is you charge an assload for something, then idiots will assume it's the best.

They are not bad, but any and all hype is created by marketing/pricing psycology and the same idiots who fell for Stryder knives ($20 materials, sold for $500).

Its funny how everyone says these are meme knives then shills BM and Spyderco. The only thing that matters when you are buying a premium knife is if it looks appealing to you. The performance of the top production brands is all so close its not even an issue. Buy whatever appeals to you most, i bet youll like it regardless of brand or what sperglord knife snobs say.
>>
>>30619526

>Buy whatever appeals to you most, i bet youll like it regardless of brand or what sperglord knife snobs say.

If you're buying knives as pocket jewelry or collector's pieces, I've got no beef with you. ZT's build quality is fantastic, warranty is great, etc etc. However, their edge geometry sucks ass.

Its just fine for most tasks, i cant argue that my caly 3 cuts cleaner, but that goes without saying. If anyone thinks a fatty ZT slices as well as a thin blade they are clueless. I love my spydie for food, i dont use it for much else though.

Admittedly it does. I know everyone says prying is a no-no, but to have a knife that can do it in a pinch, then turn around and cut anything you need it to is a nice little advantage. I wouldn't have a problem cutting anything with my PM2, it's the best knife I have as a pure cutter. But stabbing and prying always make me nervous with that thin and delicate tip.

Meanwhile, I've used my Adamas as a fucking nail puller before. And while it's tip is alot more blunt and duller than the PM2's, I've never not been able to penetrate something with it.

>>30619226
The PM2 is light as shit and has goat-tier ergos, but weight is a meme as far as knives go. You're not going to be noticing a few extra ounces in your pocket.

>I want a non-chinkshit folder for Edc

The thing is that getting a ZT knife is basically just pissing away money on marketing, mall-ninja visuals and a marginal performance improvement that does not matter for the stuff you're likely to use a folding knife for.

Buying a folding knife based on how well it handles a destruction test or how overengineered it is is absolute retardation.

Chinkshit knives have come a long way since the big brands started outsourcing so much manufacture over there.

A spyderco, ZT, Ontario or Benchmade knife is better than a Ganzo or SRM or similar on paper, but not in a way that's even close to proportional to the price difference.

If you just want the one you think is coolest, buy the one you think is coolest, but asking about it here is just going to either attract people who want to call you a retard for blowing money on a ZT, or people who need to validate their own purchase by calling the previously mentioned people poorfags.

Using anything but a multitool for urban EDC is silly anyway, and if you're not urban you can just get a sheath knife and stop faffing about.

This, Charge TTi master race reporting in.
Althought, I will admit that it has a fair heft in my pocket that you don't get with a simple folder.

Can't get past those pliers for urban usefullness though.

aw shit, I was thinking of the 0562, my bad. Sorry for the confusion.
>>
>>30619007
The screws don't hold up, either, switched mine out for a Caly 3.5 and then a Centofante 3
>>
Guys at my work make knives from Ti6Al4V and Inconel 718 all the time.
they sneak em into furnace loads so they are tempered and everything.
$50 a pop
WAYY higher quality than those overpriced knives Tacticool fags on /k/ buy
>>
>>30641764
Neither of those make particularly good blade material though.

Oh god teach me your ways... I want to get paid 4 grand to lay down cabling for a network someone doesn't actually need.
>>
>>30638421
Is that a bullet decorating the knife?
>>
>>30643288
Yes, it replaces the lock bar over travel disc. They sell them on ebay, but i made that one.
>>
>>30620481
>great knife for $2.87
>lasts 1 day with an edge that can scar skin
>lasts 1 week before it completely falls apart

Only poor people carry that much cash anyways. I bet he paid five bucks at some check cashing place too.
>>
>>30643709
Poor people and dealers, nobody normal carries cash anymore unless they're specifically going to buy something where cash will get them a discount.
>>
>>30643315
Is that a hard mod to install? It looks awesome
>>
>>30626308
I really like this knife. Never been much of a fan of the wide blade with the weird profile.
Also while you have examples of lightish weight ZT most ZT knives are much heavier. Not to say that's the end of the world. I've always heard they are built like a tank.
>>
>>30644508
All i did was cut/grind down/hole punch/file and buff a casing, then i just screwed it on. Easy af.
>>
>>30644645
Why do people pinch ounces in pocket knives?
>>
Zt is for plebs. Cold steel is the only folder youll ever need

This is for a small commerical building. Its just 4 cat 5 drops in each office. They do need it. Only took me 3 days though.
>>
>>30618319
A large number of their assisted opening knives use the torsion bar as the mechanism for keeping the blade in the handle, so if the torsion bar ever breaks (which mine did after opening it a few hundred times), you might be left with a knife that you can't carry.
>>
>>30648244
Are you fucking retarded
>>

If you still want ZT's ELMAX, you better get it quick. Last year was the last year that ZT was making any of their knives in ELMAX, all of the new production models that had ELMAX are switching to S35VN. I'm sad about it but what can you do
>>
>>30632079
I had an opportunity to buy one of those for about $100, still kicking myself.
>>
>>30646375
Because I can't stand having my pockets clunking around and my pants hanging off my belt, my phone at about 140g/5oz is pretty close to my limit.

If I'm out camping/hunting then I give way less of a shit.

XHP is easy to break though anon, show me a steel with 1.6c that isn't.

>>30648244
They will post you a new bar for free.
>>
>>30618313
I would get a decent mid tier folder and a good fixed blade instead of a very expensive folder.

Two stabby things > one stabby thing.

I work at a specialty knife store and holy shit is that knife trash. Every single one we got in felt like it was grinding metal on metal, the blade grind was uneven and was way too stiff. The stiffness was understandable for a new knife but the rest of that is inexcusable for a $285 price tag

It really does, and what it all comes down to is they had a 10 year contract with Bohler steels and decided not to renew in favor of Carpenter and Crucible steels. That and ELMAX is a pain in the dick to heat treat properly
>>
>>30649795
S35vn isnt even really comparable. At least i got my 560. Guess i need to grab a 450 too.
