Honolulu Firearms and Range is decent (but kind of expensive). They have little shooting competitions every month.
Koko Head range sucks
Schofield Barracks has a shooting club that uses the army's ranges. Best option I've found so far.

Just got done registering and something funny happened in the line... This gun shop owner walks in and hands an officer a box of donuts and skips the whole fucking line.
And to make it better my brother recognized him and said that the gunshop owner was selling a rifle to a customer and the customer proceeds to point the rifle right at my brother's in the face to "test out the sights". The gunshop owner didn't do shit...

I don't know what state you live in, but in Florida, you can walk out with a gun same day. You have to at least transfer it though, and the shop or place you buy it at has to call the ATF. Unless you did a private sale at Walmart.

I've bought about 30 or so guns at various retail places, and Walmart is particularly slow, usually takes closer to 30mins or more, waiting on them finding the box, finding a manager to walk to gun out of the store etc....
