Any guesses of how long this facog would last on a 556 AR? Would it be worth the $29 to test it, or should I save for a nice vortex or burris? http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Trijicon-ACOG-1x32-crosshair-Green-and-Red-dot-Scope-with-red-dot-sight-Tactical-Shooting-Hunting/32652975763.html

Haven't used that one. I had a $100 red dot that broke on the first round of .223 so that wouldn't do any better most likely. Svae for a vortex.

There are two problems with super cheap optics

>fragile as fuck
Overcome this by treating it like glass

>wandering zero
You dont overcome this it just plain sucks

I run BSA pmrgs on a 12g slug gun and .308 but they are cheap where im at. The bushnell trs 25 has always been recommended to me.

First time I shot an AR, it had a trs on it. They're great little sights, but they just don't look right on a full size rifle. I would highly recommend them.

Avoid.

A friend tried that experiment with a Sig brand red dot. He brought it to a carbine class, and past 50 yards, he couldn't hold a group.

Once he swapped back into his regular optic (aimpoint, I think), everything fell into place.

Junk optics are not worth it, you won't get your money's worth, and they barely work.

I think there are some $100 Primary arms that people say are ok, and bushnell has a few cheaper models, that I bet will be fine when working on a budget.

Vortex is pretty great if you don't want to cross the $400 eotech/aimpoint threshold.

Wouldn't even bother. You are pissing money away on an optic that will last literally 5 minutes unless you are putting it on a .22, then it might last 10 minutes.

Try Kalinka optics. Got a PK-A on a weaver mount and it works better than my buddy's Vortex red-dot. It has a smaller 1 moa dot , and has on-the-fly adjustments which can be easily returned to original zero.

I meant a full size AR.

I have a trinity force 1-4 on my ar. Put around 8000 rounds through it and it kept zero just fine. Just Lock Tight it down. Paid about 100 for mine

Get the Primary Arms Micro Red Dot. Same price range but way better. Trust me, I've had both.
