I'm on that gi bill with a couple grants and a side job. I'm not oozing weapons, but I've been able to go from a PPK and Lee Enfield No.4 Mk1 (I was basically 1950s Britain at that point) to adding a USP45 Tactical, USP45 Compact, CZ P01, and building AR, not to mention stocking thousands of rounds.
It can be done, just save and be patient.
