Would a device like this be in violation of some ATF rule?

Basically it's a large .30 caliber rifle cartridge sized "adapter" for smaller .22lr rounds that can be fed and extracted from bolt action magazines like the full-size rounds.

Should be legit.
They are commonly made for shotguns to fire various pistol cartridges from .45 down, so .22LR would just need to be offset so the regular centrefire firing pin is against the outer rim of the .22

It's just a conversion kit. Why would it be illegal?
Always wanted a cum rifle

I was born with one.

perfectly legal, just really convoluted for a .22 trainer
For what purpose?
This is fucking useless
Why would anybody want this?
Ill equipped with machine guns and artillery? They would have been better off if they trained with 22lr?
Is this all a joke?

They make .303 caliber sleeves for .32 ammunition as well since they share bore diameter. It's great since .303 costs $.80-$1 per round, whereas .32 can still be found for $.30 per round. Also, theres less recoil and noise so its great for teaching newbies how to shoot without them being intimidated by a full power rifle round.
