hey /k/
Why are is XM193 not your round of choice for the upcoming race war?
>>
>>30589233
Because my AR-15 has a 1:7 twist barrel.

Really isnt going to get cheaper than that especially round election time
>>
>>30589434
Where is xm193 $0.25/round?

Because 55gr is not nearly enough to get through all the fat of the average bloated white trailer trash. I'm betting on 75gr to rip their obese heads open.
>>
You fags want to act like elitist about this and that particular particular round. Don't get me wrong m193 and m855 is great stuff, but imo for the same money I'd rather have 1500rd of steel 223 than 1000rd of m193. The dindus won't know the difference.
>>
>>30589233

What's a good round for a barrel with a 1:9 twist? I have an m&p-15

Only 77gr is sufficient to ensure dindus dindon't

55-62 grain anything
>>
>>30589583
Isn't barrel length a factor?
>>
>>30589539
The XM193 as some pretty good penetration and outstanding cavitation. It also is very good out of a 1:9
>>
>>30589233
Because I have my own load worked up and hundreds of rounds loaded up so far and hundreds more to come.

68gr BTHP Match @ 2900 fps
>>
>>30589583

So a 62-grain would be better than a 55-grain in a 1:9 barrel?

Kind of, but mostly in that there's little reason to use some twist at some barrel lengths.

Literally doesn't matter at all, you can't overstabilize a 55g round with a 1/7 twist barrel.

>>30589324
The worst round you can possibly have.

>>30589539
M193
>>30589607
Yes and that chart is grossly oversimplified, you cannot overstabilize.223 rounds unless you are shooting sub 50g varmint rounds, and even then the effects are minimal.

M193 is the best ammo to stockpile if you aren't running OTMs or Bonded LE ammo.
>>
>>30589245
This.
>>
>>30589664
I agree. I don't know where the "55gr sucks out of a 1-7" barrel" meme started, but it needs to stop. You won't get as much bullet upset in soft tissue because it is essentially overstabilized, but you will not see bullets breaking up in flight or poor accuracy. That is pure memery.
>>
>>30589690
Even that is unconfirmed, I guarantee you'll see the exact same thing happen shooting gel at 0-100 yards with 55g ammo out of both a 1/7 twist and a 1/9 twist.

Found this on a cheaper than dirt article
>>
>>30589702
You are probably right, because there is not much difference in a 1-7" and 1-9" twist. But if you go up to 1-12" or 1-14" then a difference can be quantified.
>>
>>30589727
That is talking about a 40gr bullet, not a 55gr bullet, homo.
>>
>>30589233

Too many cans of 7n6 waiting to turn my lawn into chocolate dagestan. That and all my 5.56 is all M855 surplus.
>>

Both will work fine.

>M855
Fuck's sake anons.
>>
>>30589740
You better be saving it all to sell off like I am.
>>
>>30589245
1:7 twist works for all 5.56 bullet weights
>>
>>30589434
Where the hell are you finding m193 for 25 cents a round?

Finding it for 30 cents is tough.
>>
>>30589834
I'm tempted to get some M855 to stockpile until election time and then sell it off to a bunch of panic-buying retards. Only reason I'd ever keep such a dogshit round around.
>>
>>30589846
Can't get it at 25 cents, however Wolf Gold is a fantastic source of cheap, worthwhile M193. Usually averages out to 32 cents a pop.
>>
>>30589844
Well, it works, but the very light stuff(sub 50g) will have issues with overstabilization, this means keyholing and accuracy issues.
>>
>>30589666
Checkd. How are you liking the sr9?
>>
>>30589863
Do it. Biden was on the news earlier today talking about the need to ban "armor piercing" rounds.
>>
>>30589887
It shoots, sometimes I hit where I want.

I'm very lukewarm towards all pistols though, and the SR9 was a gift.

Honestly I just need to find a pistol that I feel accurate with and sell the SR9.

Picked up some 56 grain Golden Tiger yesterday. I heard about the court house on /pol/ yesterday so I rushed to order it online. Everything seems ok now though. Visually it looks pretty nice, compared to tula at least.

Question, how much do you keep in mags at a time? I got 11 pmags (7 unopened), and a surp molle 2 vest with a 3 mag pouch. Should I keep al mags loaded, or should I just keep 3 in the vest and one in the raifu? Main reason I got some unopened (besides no ammo) is that I figured it would be better for selling if a panic happened.
>>
>>30589233
My belief is that the xm193 is only superior to the m855 out of a greater than 16" barrel.
It has increased flash and bang out of shorter barrels when compared to the heavier rounds too.
>>
>>30594062
Keep all your magazines loaded.

Springs wearing out from being compressed for long periods of time is fudd-lore.
>>
>>30594023
The military uses a 1 in 7 twist in the m16 and m4, the standard round now is the m855 and m855a1. One of the reasons the military wanted a 1 in 7 twist was so they could fire 77 grain tracers with greater accuracy. Ideally a heavier bullet is better in a 1 in 7 twist barrel, but anything above 55gr will work.
>>
>>30594091

We had m855 in the service, but everyone shits on it here. Seemed to work fine, I have both m855 and xm193 at the house.
>>
>>30589233
Because chimps will be hiding behind cars and walls and I want it to go through more than one of them if they attack in a mob, so I choose 7.62x39 (only because too poor for a .308)

So I've stocked up probably 500+ rounds of XM193 (literally 100% what's in OP's pic)

I have 2 16" ARs and a 10.5" pistol in my house.

Should I stick with M193 or should I shift the stockpiling towards M855?

MOST IMPORTANTLY:

How much will my zero/POI change if I go back and forth between M193 & M855? I am zeroed for M193 currently
>>
>>30594670

Curious to know this as well
>>
Just ordered a pack battle pack of 193 and I've got a mini can of m855 and planning on grabbing another when I get paid, plus about 1k of random .223 sitting in cans. Not ideal numbers yet but I'm mainly worried about getting stocked up before the election panic
>>30594670
I'm also wondering about that. Surely it would be minimal running a red dot like a vortex right?
