I watched SpongeBob as my bright colors and war and true crime documentaries for everything else. Investigation discovery and the military channel had bigger places in my heart than anything else did. When I found out future weapons Mac had cancer it was like realizing my childhood friend and hero had just died. When it became AMHC?(whatever shit they call it) and it became unusable discovery Channel content and the conspiracy theory circle jerk it was like watching my childhood be demolished and rebranded. It all was my shit. I knew murder statistics of every US war, the streets, and of drug battles in south America when I was in third grade. I knew then better than that grammar shit they were teaching me then. Literally watched next to no cartoons it was all documentaries on war, crime, or some mind blowing stuff on the science channel. Most of the science channel came in later in my childhood but I assure everyone it is that winning combination that has made me a paranoid military "enthusiast" and a real solid atheist.

My dad was air force, and then Air National Guard, worked pretty high up on a big training base.
He had these VHS tapes that were from this weird little documentary series on various aspects of air combat, weapons systems and aircraft loadouts, looked like it had been made as a basic primer for newcomwers or something.
I watched that series over and over and over again as a kid, memorized whole swathes of it. I was like 6-7 at the most and I knew the difference between a sidewinder and an AMRAAM and the engagement ranges of various aircraft and weapons.
Went up to visit the base for a little party one time, looking at the pictures of various planes on the wall. One of dad's work buddies came over, looked at the little kid walking around and said. "That's an airplane!"
I looked at him like he'd just told me the sky was blue and said. "THAT is an F-16 Fighting Falcon!" While wondering how the hell someone who worked with fighters for a living couldn't know them at a glance.

I watched the show for a while with my little sister and I have to say that if you have to watch a girly show with a kid, it's probably your best option. They actually put effort into the animation and writing, when most kids shows just assume the little sprogs aren't able to appreciate quality and just throw tripe on screen.
It's not for me but I can appreciate that actual effort and skill went into it, when most shows for that age group hide behind 'it's just for kids' as an excuse to only use bottom of the barrel crud. It's aimed at kids but it doesn't talk down to them, it's like the girl version of Batman TAS or Gargoyles.
I will eternally hate the new Clone Wars series for retconing the glory that was the Republic Commandos series. The books, I mean. Not sure if the game was ever cannon. But it was the best part of Star Wars, bar none. The whole interplay between loyalty to each other, the Republic, and their adopted Mandolorian culture was great. And it actively poked fun at Jedi stupidity. And since it was all about the guys at the sharp end of the stick, it had plenty of well written action.
