The money you save buying a vepr 23" you can buy both stocks, multiple posp scopes, crates of spam cans and commercial 54r, and still have an objectively better rifle...
Your picture is not a SVD, it is a PSL, a Romanian DMR that has absolutely nothing in common with a SVD.
A SVD uses a short stroke gas system and is a fine rifle, the PSL is a 4-MOA piece of shit that uses a long stroke gas system and is an all around terrible rifle, for its marketed purpose at least.
An actual pre-ban SVD will cost you around $30,000. So, if you want the closest you can actually get, get a Tigr for around $4,000.

Atlantic firearms sells their vepr'svd cali legal out of box. The stuff you see there is aftermarket. You can find a lot of vepr on gun broker and shit usually in the cali legal configuration.

They also sell the svd furniture vepr for 1300 the stocks are rhineland arms but they are special edition Atlantic versionseating they have a specific die and the front of the handguard is cut at an angle as opposed to being a flat edge up front.
