What caliber has killed the most people? Alot of people would say 762x39 but I would be willing to make an argument for 8mm
>>
>>30584128
>762x39
>>
.22lr

I'm not joking.
>>
>>30584139
You honestly think all the accidental discharge and criminal deaths from .22lr would outweigh 762x39 or even 556?
>>
>>30584139
Fudd
>>
>>30584128
I would agree. Considering it was used in both WW and not just by Germany.
>>
>>30584152
Judging from statistics yes. Most wartime deaths aren't from small arms.
>>
>>30584128
It's .22LR m8, just ask Zed.
>>
Would musket balls be in the running?
>>
>>30584422
I wonder when the last time someone was shot in anger with a musket ball.
>>
>>30584373
What are most wartime deaths from, artillery?

Genuinely curious.
>>
>>30584422
No because calibers varied significantly, ammo standardization didn't become a thing for a while.
>>
>>30584468

>YANKEES GET OUT REEEEEEEE
>>
>>30584128
7.62x54R
>>
>>30584486
In WW1 definitely.
>>
>>30584486
Artillery or aircraft I would say.
>>
>>30584128
.380 ACP
>>
>>30584816
Kek maybe injured the most.
>>
probably my flaccid cock
>>
>>30584861
one .380 bullet killed 60 million people.

try to beat that.
>>
>>30584486
prior to ww1 disease, during ww1 artillery
>>
>>30584877
>implying that bullet actually went through all those people

Stop trying to be dramatic
>>
>>30584128
7.62mmx39 simply due to the prevalence of the caliber in war torn shit holes.
>>
>>30584128
Of course, this should be obvious, its the 5.56mm NATO used by the AR15 assault machine gun
This gun is a weapon of mass destruction, it feels like a bazooka when fired, it gives its users PTSD!!!!
If you do not condemn this EVIL gun, then you support the slaughter of MILLIONS of American CHILDREN every year
Please, ban assault machine rifles JUST THINK OF THE CHILDREN
If you own an AR15, you are part of the problem, and if you defend the use of the AR15, then you are a racist and also homophobic- because Omar Mateen used one- and probably Islamophobic too
Get your evil NRA Christian away from my safe space
Foolish bible belt gun nuts, you are compensating for small penises(my friend on r/guncontrol told me that one)
Stop watching Fox """""News""""" and watch a proper news source, such as CNN
Yours Sincerely, California
>>
Maybe the minie ball from the mid-1800s? Pretty standardized for many militaries and it was in use before artillery began to completely outstrip small arms in terms of firepower. Just a suggestion, I really don't know enough to back it up further or toss it.
>>
>>30585344
the casualties from conflicts prior the first world war can not compare to anything from post WW1.

i think it is either artillery or 7.62x39 due to the popularity of AKs chambered in it.
>>
>>30585363
Excluding artillery I would say the 8 Mauser. It was used not only in WW1 but also the Eastern front of WW2 where you just saw insane casualty numbers.
>>
>>30584138
Well the caliber is certainly big enough...
>>
>>30584877
If you're talking about Gavrilo Princip, he used a .32.
>>
>>30584128

Is there a much bigger version of that chart?

I can't read any of that shit.

no?
>>
>>30585451

the 8mm Mauser is a contestant, what about 7,62x54r?

i still think that millions of Aks in the hands of african militias will be on of the top contenders.
>>
>>30585529
I would say more people with the 762x54r were dying than were killing in all conflicts it was involved in.

I forgot all about the international standard military round throughout both world wars, the .22lr
>>
8x57 because of WW1+WW2 - huge casualty counts.
>>
>>30585551

It was used in more conflicts than 8mm Mauser.
>>
>>30585524

Thanks

I'd bet that the long-lived bore diameters (that survived the smokeless revolution) have accumulated the most kills over time. So, your .32/.38/.44 cal rounds. Thats in the US, though. no idea what was popular in EU. Also, maybe .50 cal? since that was around from muzzle loading times and is the measurement of some very deadly weapons/cartridges today.
>>
>>30585594
God I love that picture
>>
>>30584128
9mm is probably up there. It's been used for tons of civilian murders, some military usage and saw alot of use in executions (probably hundreds of thousands in the Holocaust, pistols are used for executions more than rifles)
>>
>>30585573
8mm Mauser was abandoned after WW2

7.62x54R was used in rifles/machine guns in both world wars, saw use by both sides in the Russian Revolution and Winter War, and has been used in machine guns by third world countries ever since.
>>
If we're talking most people overall and not just conventional military conflicts, then it's probably 9x19.
>>
>>30585637
>7.62x54

most people killed BY the round, not sitting behind the gun firing it anon

8mm mauser has my vote. 7.62x54r also is very likely to be it.
>>
>>30585669
>le mongol horde XD
Literally kys
>>
>>30585637
third world kill counts are nothing compared to the carnage of the world wars.
>>
>>30585736
Wars fought with combined arms are going to have significantly less casualties caused by small arms relative to everything else. Darkies genociding each other in African hell holes are doing it with small arms because that's all they can afford to use.

Good ol' Elmo. That guy's the next Zyklon Ben imo
>>
>>30585736
This is why I don't think the AK is a legit contender.
>>
>>30585786
WW1 still probably accounts for a lot of MG kills. Smallarms can be best ignored really.
>>
>>30585829
MGs are considered small arms.
>>
>>30585829
>MG08
>fired 8mm
>>
>>30585878

In the post it does not say small arms, I think the deadliest caliber is 155mm artillery.
>>
>>30585497
Nope, .380.
>>
>>30584128
.32 ACP as a result of it being heavily used for mass executions.

That or .25. I can never remember.

As for the one with the most kills when fired in anger, I want to say it's either 7.62x54r or 8mm Mauser as they're so damn prolific and have been around 100+ years.

Nobody in those shitholes can hit a damn thing though. More property damage than anything

>>30585497
Even then it only slightly accelerated things. Shit was gonna happen either way
