All of these questions and more will probably only be answered by Zasta or Ajax because the rest of us just JB weld shit together at random until it somehow works.

Eh, barrel is pretty much trash, what remains of the bolt might be fine after a bit of dremeling, but it sounds like they dont include the whole thing.
It sounds like all the tiny bits inside the receiver are caked in weld, so those are almost certainly trash.
The receiver itself could potentially be fixed with a dremel/drill press/file and a lot of patience, but it would be far more work than rewelding a chopped kit.
http://www.gunbroker.com/item/570499222

Dunno about the APEX kit, I want info as well. I'm sure the parts themselves are fine, if a little worn, however I only know of one company making receiver flats for them currently and thats the Prexis thing that Forgotten weapons complained about.

You need some chunks of metal to shape it, a big heavy stove to bend said metal, and then a guide on how to put a CETME together because I think its pretty much the same from there on out.

>>30585872
McKay Enterprises has all the receiver parts you'll really need, except for the semi-auto bolt.
No one has the bolt. Everyone that sells a 9mm semi bolt is out of stock.
and everywhere I've looked has said converting a full auto bolt to semi is a pain in the ass.

for Cat A weapons, like UZI, AK and Co
> 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, 8.1, 10.1, 10.2 need to apply

these are
> fix barrel with steel-pin through barrel and chamber to weapon + welding
> free barrel: cut slot through the full length of chamber + weld (plug) the barrel with rod
> drill holes into barrel
> remove feedramp
> remove / shorten firing pin
> machine bolt 45°
> weld FP hole shut
> destroy gas piston
> remove breechblock and replace with steel piece, or remove 50% of it´s mass + weld + cut off locking lugs
> weld trigger shut with frame, no movement, OR remove trigger assembly completly and fill everything with epoxy
> no moving bolthandle and dissable beltfed mechanism
> weld mag to gun (aka no removeable mag)
> prevent detaching of suppressor
> drill a shitton of holes into the suppressor

have fun

I just got a Sten Mk.3 kit from Sarco. It seems in ok condition but is missing the trigger housing cover and the butt of it is bent to shit.
Hoping to do an IO vertical mag vented model and see about putting an adjustable sight on the back of it.

RTG had/has good kits, mine was brand new before being cut up. Global tool and machine (on GB) makes 80% sections you weld the front and rear of a kit to.

So the Cetme L kits need a barrel, as do the Galils, and neither of them (from what I can see) share with other rifles. Also the vz/sa 26 tubes have been out for awhile now.

Have you heard from your super secret gunbuilding forum buddies anything about any of these parts coming back in stock? Or do I just have to cross my fingers and hope for a gunbroker auction?

Oh, and is there any difference between the royal tiger DP28 kits and what Robert Bowman on GB sells?

A lot of 'deactivated' guns sold in Europe could be turned back into functional firearms in the US, with the availability of parts and all.
That's part of the reason they aren't able to be shipped over in their current state. Hell, some of them have fully intact receivers.
>>
>>30590181
Why are RT's cut like that and no one elses?
>>
I have a lot of sa26 stuff, and a pm63 kit

I'm probably going to do the sa26 first, as it is the easier one to weld....

But the bolt work looks pretty hard. I refuse to buy someone else's design, so I'm doing it all by myself

And I'm dreading opening up the ejection port for 9mm reliability.. Surely there is a better way?
>>
Bamp?

Also, it turns out that the cfs pps43 kits don't have the barrel pin. Aargh!
>>
>>30583950
>Blue, Duracoat, or paint?
Blued. Paint over park if slavaboo/ten

>Uzi kit, pistol or rifle?
Rifle, keep folding stock, fake suppressor for aardvark barrel length

>How many creek beds will I have to dig in before I find a restorable gun that isn't a Jennings and/or murder weapon?

Depends on the location, but a creek bed is a terrible place for a firearm for the most part.
I'd recommend looking in alpine areas near old battlefields with a metal detector

>How does the BM59 stack up to the Garand?
About what you'd expect. BM59 beats it in capacity and ammo cost, the Garand beats it in reliability and parts availability.

>How high of a blood alcohol content do I need before I find the AMD-65 attractive
0.16 or thereabouts - reduced to 0.04 if you add an Ultimak and AMD65Tech cheek riser and a decent sling. And wood PG's.

>What exactly is wrong with the Apex Galil barrels, and is it fixable?

IIRC the diameter is too small at the receiver end and requires either knurling or a receiver trunnion area that is under-sized. Don't quote me on that though. I gave up on building a Galil a long ass time ago.

>Rare-gun butt-man said the Prexis CETME L flats were shit, is this true?
http://www.forgottenweapons.com/product-review-cetme-l-flat-by-prexis/

No idea - I'm amazed someone made flats for it. What's needed for a barrel?
