Why don't we just make bullets that act like shaped charges to literally penetrate tanks? The power of an RPG in a bullet. It would make the average soldier very power.
The Munroe effect falls off very rapidly with increasing diameters of the copper lining. You'd be lucky for the as-pictured round to maintain effectiveness past the end of a barrel.
That's not to say that you can't put a shaped charge in your projectile, the 40mm HEDP has exactly that inside of it.

because the charge would have to be so big its literally the size of a rocket/grenade and at that point it would hardly be a 'bullet'

>Why don't we just make bullets that act like shaped charges to literally penetrate tanks?
>literally
Do people just use that word for the sake of using it?
You need an appreciable amount of explosives to generate force and you need something to hold up long enough to direct the force and you can't reasonably cram either into intermediate or even large rifle rounds.

yeah but the copper lining isn't big and thus doesn't require much energy learn scienc retards
>invent EFP handguns
>sell idea to keltec
>???
>profit
Stop being dumb.
>>30583418
yeah why don't the retards that make bullets learn scienc
Because that's not how physics work you faggot

When 2 people say "it's too small" the appropriate response is not "but it isn't big."
It's like you're running all of this through Google translate or something.

To an extent we do. However, modern guns are too narrow bore to mount a super effective shaped charge.
Still, we've got HEAT rounds for the 120mm smoothbore.

Someone link this idiot the military channels history of the shaped charge. Op has never been so stupid

I miss those days.
I turned it onto AHC a couple days ago and was greeted with a show about newlywed couples buying homes in Alaska.
Followed by 2 hours of conspiracy theories.
At least they showed "Bridge on the River Kwai" that evening.
