Whats the closest I can get to WWII 1911 without actually buying one that was in service?

is the Colt series 70 the closest?

Not interested in these ones with rails and night sights and shit.

You can get an auto ordnance
But you're looking for 'GI' styled model 1911

Since you've stupidly prioritized minimal aesthetics over functionality, you have two choices. You either buy an old Colt that was in service, which is a coin flip because of age, or you buy an Auto Ordnance, which is mediocre at best.

You're clearly not going to use either of them for self-defense, so instead of getting a knockoff WWII 1911, just get the fucking mil-surp Colt.

no shit, I already have a workhorse, and his name is Glock21

get a Springer MilSpec 1911, I like mine and it's about as plain Jane as they come

Just buy one that was in service. Otherwise, buy something else. Old ones run the risk of being in bad condition and breaking down.

Just go ww1 and get a cimarron 1911 they come in parkerized, high polish blue and nickel, 500 bucks, look 1000x better than ao gi

Basically most any GI styled model. Some have differing slides and what not. I picked up a cheap shit Turk Tisas 1911 for $320. Surprisingly good quality

They're better quality than RIA's
>>
Norinco 1911, best repro out there. The only people that will hate on it never owned/held one.

Or any of the half a dozen pre-A1 style 1911s on the market built because other people like them too

You could always try and track down one of the colt ww2 reissues.

Unfortunately I think they're probably selling for around 800-1000 now.
