My dad used to have a Taurus .44 Magnum about 10 years ago. It functioned fine, but the ergos were horrendous and teenage-me couldn't hit shit with it.

To clarify on the ergos - the grip seems like a lumpy square-cornered brick covered in slimy rubber, and sized for Shaq's hands. Also seemed about four times as heavy and bulky as it needed to be.
I've gotten a little taller and a lot stronger since then so I might think differently of it now.
I went to the store fully intending on buying a Judge to shoot ptarmigan with. I asked the guy if I could hold it and immediately it felt cheap and you could see uneven gaps and things. Also I don't know what the grip was made of but it was crap. So I spent the extra $100 and got a Governor. I have pistols and rifles from several manufacturers so i'm not a brandfag but I just could buy it.

Have a stainless 65 and other Taurus products. Only the ones made twenty years or more ago still hold up. 65 and PT92AF are great, Millenium and 24/7 were recalled and sold off. 65 has transfer bar safety and older ones had metal cylinder release. New ones use plastic. Buy and older one, pre integrated safety 65.
