Lets just say in the future some crazy ban is passed where AR15s and AKs are banned. How would anyone be able to keep track of 80% lowers? Assuming they would still be available for sale (no idea why they wouldent since it isnt a gun) how would you stop people from making them?

Hey you just taught yourself why gun grabbing would never accomplish shit.
>>
>>30565801
Unless they made 80% lowers illegal there would be no way to track them, which is just one of the reasons a blanket AR ban will never work.
>>
They would have to ban most at home gunsmithing

>Unless they made 80% lowers illegal there would be no way to track them

>implying they'd be able to track 79% lowers even if 80% lowers were illegal

True, there would just be other ways, and always will be.

I always laugh when people think banning guns is going to "Dry up the flow of assault weapons". Like they'll all just magically disappear and nobody will make more.
>>
>>30565801
If they want to seriously go at gun banning, they would simply redefine what constitutes the "gun".

In multiple european countries, barrel and chamber are regulated parts.

Also, since in current US law barrels are not a gun, thy might try banning them and then say "hurr we are not banning guns and not violating 2a. why are you so angry about"

Dont underestimate the malicious fuckers.

>>30567078
Again - look at europe, which is their main source of inspiration. They will attempt to do so as soon as they feel they could get away with it.
>>
>>30565801
They will ban selling the rest of the parts.
>>
Just knock on the online store's door and ask for their databases. That's what they did in Cali with those polymer lowers
>>
>>30565801

The California gun ban includes AR-15 80% lowers

Just wait till Hillary is elected, all of your questions will be answered.

>If some crazy ban were passed and machineguns were banned. How would anyone be able to track auto sears?

The same way they do now. Compliance by the overwhelming majority of law abiding citizens. AKA gun owners.
>>
>>30569428
Couldn't you sell 80% lowers as paperweights or "nonfiring replica"
>>

>hypothetically couldn't you do x if hypothetically y happened?

WHAT IF HYPOTHETICALLY Z HAPPENED??
