You can full auto M16's or whatever in the US - they are regulated and expensive. The few states that neuter modern sporting rifles do so cosmetically rather than mechanically.
Those are really shitty examples of guns Americans can't have.
How about short barreled rifles or suppressors without red tape? the US is unique in that regard and most other places around the world dont' regulate a safety device, and a rifle is a rifle regardless of length, so a 10.5" shorty in Italy or something is no more different than a 20" one.
