What video game portrays modern weapons the best? Bullet drop / Weapon sounds / Malfunction issues etc. etc.
>>
Effective range is under 150 meters.
9mm pistols deal more damage than 9mm SMGs.
>>
Escape From Tarkov looks pretty good so far.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQHKJb70o2A

It's starting to approach reality in weapon customization, treating guns not as one solid piece but as every little component fitted together.

more on that
takes more then one round to kill
no wounded just health bar/number so you take 1/2 a mag from an ak and are still running around but take one more shot and now you are dead
no video game portrays modern weapons correctly
>>
I've modded the shit out of New Vegas and it's kind of close, but not what I'd like it to be yet.

I'm curious about other game's potentials though, or games without heavy modding.
>>
>>30561779
Similar with me, modded the game to hell and gone.

Not realistic weapon behavior really, but the numbers of makes, models and calibers is comfortably diverse and adds depth to the world.

Hotdogs Horseshoes and Handgrenades could use a bit of work on bullet physics, but being in VR with you being able to manipulate the guns is 2reel.

Max Payne 3 was real fuckin' nato.

Yeah I've added a few weapons, but I've upped the damage too. For instance vanilla is like six 9mm rounds to the head to kill, now it's like four chest shots.

Plus enemies run out of ammo, and I just found a mod to increase weapon malfunctions a bit more realistically.

Then realistic weapon names, helmets are required to provide DT for headshots, weapon skill doesn't affect damage. I think those are all options with Project Nevada.

This, too bad they are probably never gonna make a max payne 4

Do you play Tale of Two Wastelands, or just New Vegas?

I'm not too bothered by the actual gunplay of NV. I know it's not realistic but I think it's fun.
>>
>>30561876
Why is the mag on the g36 so small?
Also,
>Spas-15
>Famae SAF
>Beretta m12
This pleases the autist who enjoys games with rarely seen weapons in media.
>>
>>30561427

Wow, that's exceptional. Other videos make the gunplay look pretty good, too.

Just New Vegas. I had to look up what tale of two wastelands is, I'll definitely have to try that out. I never did beat fallout 3 anyways.
>>
>>30561463
>takes more then one round to kill
But humans are not that easy to kill. It really does take more than one round unless you hit a vital organ or an important blood vessel. Even then death is not instant. Bullets that are large enough to blow up your head or accurately aimed single bullet to your front lobe is the only way I can think of that would kill instantly.
>>
>>30562250
fallout 3 isnt rly worth beating. pretty bad story overall and i wish i never would have bothered. but go ahead if you want

Was going to say, I used some assets another guy created to make a mod for TTW for my own use, replaces the combat shotgun with something more realistic.

TTW is great, though if you use NMC's texture pack for your NV then you'll have to run it through some scripts available online to make it work in the F3 game area as well, it's not hard to track down.

battlefield bad company 2 is my go-to game for realism. its fun and the bullet drop off is fun and consistent.

bc2 is not very realistic compared to other non-normie games but it's the first game I played where I was really impressed with the atmosphere and immersion. DICE is amazing at that.

Ghost Recon (I think, one of the Tom Clancy games that came out after he died) did that too.

>>30561362
Any of the milsim games should work. I can't remember any right off the bat other than operation flashpoint. I seem to recall some US Army VS terrorist game that is lauded for it's extremely realistic gameplay. Can't remember the damn name though, it's been talked about on /k/. Personally I always liked BF4 (and battlefield in general) for having relatively accurate weapons while having excellent gameplay. Best balance IMO.

Max Payne is a surprisingly /k/ game for the series that invented "bullet time" as a mechanic.
That being said, Max is pretty fucking /k/ himself, private security detail in South America operating from everywhere from the city to the slums while everything that's too stupid to be protected by him dies around him. Not to mention getting an entire fucking PMC to hold a vendetta mission to kill /just him/ only to fail.
>>
>>30562893
They are talking about modern weapons.

Oh god, that poor Russian dev trying to explain the game's plot and concept in incredibly poor english.

All the weird word choices and the umming and erring as he tries to think of the right way to say anything. Poor guy, he's trying his best.

Insurgency. It can be a bit arcadey in terms of gameplay, but the weapons are great.

Everything from the supersonic snap when a bullet nearly hits you, to the (slightly variable) cyclic rate of various weapons as they dump a mag.

Handling is good too, smaller weapons maneuver much better in close quarters.

Damage models are pretty decent. 1 bullet can kill you if put in the right place, but if you have level 3 plates that rarely happens.

SQUAD.

It's in Early Access but the devs are really open with what they are working on and troop transports with working interiors and weapons will be implemented by the end of July. Right now it's just huge footslogs across either Eastern European forests or Giant poppy fields

It's source engine, so there are limitations.

I think the upcoming standalone titles will use a Valve-backed rework of source if I read the devblogs right. You might get your ballistics.
>>
>>30562901
Was amazing...
>>
>>30561396
This is because most devs put their idea of "weapon balance" above realism. When realism is the number one priority, a lot of weapons become shit because they get outclassed.
