They had 2 weeks before hand as a "preparation" phase where they could literally walk with cadre through the course in its entirety during the day time.
It still took them 12 tries after that to pass...of course on the iteration when Benning's 2 star general came by to "give motivation" to the women.
Bear in mind this is a test male candidates are expected to complete on the first try, with no marked maps, in the dead of night with red flashlights only.
