My lady and I rented one at the range today trying to find her a carry gun. We both enjoyed it greatly. Best feeling and straight shooting .380 I've shot. Range rental was a decently used sport 12 version.

I want a P938 its about the same in size and design but its 9mm. How does it feel when you are carrying it? Noticeable? Jabbing at any points? etc?
>>
>>30553791
what is the lightest striker fire 9mm for pocket carry? looking for something like the Walther PPQ but maybe more compact or lighter?
>>
>>30554289
P320 subcompact maybe?

this looks promising

>>30554322
is this considered a striker fired gun?

>>30554648
i like this

>>30554280
In my pocket holster my 238 pretty much disappears into the outline of my pants. I barely notice its presence.

Not OP, by the way.

is there a spreadsheet or website that i can find weights of different guns listed alongside other criteria?
>>
>>30555015
Are you just too lazy to use google?

https://www.kahr.com/Pistols/Kahr-PM9.asp

The PM 9 is one of the thinnest and shortest single stack, striker fired 9mms. I am upgrading to the MK9 though because I want an all steel version and dont care about weight.

sorry i'm new to firearms. i'm reading this:

The firing pin of a gun can be struck by a hammer, or can be part of a striker.

The firing mechanism of a gun with a hammer can be either SAO (e.g. 1911), DAO (e.g. Sig 250), or pre-set DA (e.g. PF9, LC9, LCP). With a pre-set DA hammer, the hammer is partially cocked by racking the slide, and the trigger cocks it the rest of the way, then releases it when pulled.

Striker triggers can likewise be SAO (e.g. XD, M&P), DAO (I don't know of any), or pre-set DA (e.g. Glock).

Any time I hear someone compare "striker-fired" to "DAO" I want to kick them, because that's wrong and stupid.

A true DA trigger will cock the hammer as the trigger is pressed to the rear and then release it to fire the round. As the slide cycles, the hammer will be left cocked...to be release by a SA trigger pull. This action is commonly called DA/SA.

A DAO trigger does the same thing as a DA trigger will, but even after the slide has cycled, the hammer will remain down to be drawn back by the next trigger pull.

Either of these actions will allow the trigger to be pulled again and draw back the hammer should the slide not cycle

A common striker action has the striker held back in the cocked position and then be released as the trigger is pulled.

still trying to learn what this means sorry

>A common striker action has the striker held back in the cocked position and then be released as the trigger is pulled.
Wrong. A striker can be a DAO. You are trying to equate a preloaded striker with a striker in general.

The striker is pulled back, and released by the trigger pull on the kahr. There are actually quite a few DAO striker fired handguns, if you continue exploring single stack 9s and .380s you will find quite a few.

Here I found you an animation of the Kahr trigger system. While it does partially load the striker when racking the slide, pulling the trigger will first pull the striker back, and then release it.

Walther P99 has a weird DA/SA striker.

do you know how much this weighs with a full mag? without is 21.1 oz

>>30553791
Get the grips screws loctited (blue, oil resistant a.k.a. surface insensitive) right away.

The little fuckers don't hold in place, and from the moment you last inspected them to the moment they're out and chewed the frame thread beyond repair there's a couple of magazines, you may not even notice it.

Do it now.

Same with P938, btw.
>>
>>30555291
Striker fired just means there's a spring loaded striker that his the firing pin/is the firing pin. Hammer fired just means there's a hammer that hits the firing pin/has an integral firing pin (revolvers mainly).

All other descriptive terms are just variations of implementing these two designs.

>>30554280
Carries just fine in DeSantis Mini Scabbard.

They make that holster for different guns. The one for P938 is perfect, but the one for P238 is loose because of a mistake in design, and you won't be able to tighten it to hold the gun securely. Never lost mine, though, so YMMV.

>>30556839
According to my kitchen scale, 24.1 oz with 6+1 of 124gr
