Anywhere I go I always bring way too much stuff, even if I go rollerblading on a hot day I'll have a small pack with a jug of water, an extra tshirt, a small med pouch sun block and all sorts of other stuff. If I leave my house I'd probably bring:

I'd really like to bring the Remington 700 SPS Tactical AAC-SD for .308 goodness but I'd already be carrying a lot. Or I'd replace the 870 with the 700 since I wouldn't need so much defense up close but 12 gauge is probably the safest solution if you want to find and use all sorts of ammo.

You can get 5.7 ammo that defeats IIIa out of the Five-seveN pistol legally right now this second from Elite Ammunition.
Also, the store shelf available American Eagle 40gr defeats level II out of the pistol. SS195 and SS198 do the same.
All of these rounds will defeat IIIa out of the PS90.
You can also buy the steel tip SS190 on GunBroker second hand legally.

I have experienced a great deal of QC problems with Para's stuff over time. Sometimes you get a good one, but after a few hundred rounds they all start to fall apart. Ben my experience if something is really cheap that you get what you pay for.

Most people go for a shotgun if they have only one choice for a firearm because they are easy to wield and when shot have a pretty good shot pattern even if you are using slugs. Get hit anywhere by a slug and you will be out of the fight. Pistols are great and all, but 1. hope you don't run out of ammo if there isn't any handy anywhere because unless you are shooting 9mm, 10mm, or 45acp good luck finding more; 2. In tight situations you can be disarmed or miss pretty easy unless you are decently trained; and 3. because shotguns are pretty intimidating.
ARs and such are great primary weapons, but 1. ARs are costly now: 2. see above about pistols
A smart anon with little money can get a decently reliable 12 gauge pump shotgun for under $300 and a box of buckshot or slugs will run you about $1 to $0.40 per shell depending on where you go. Can't beat that.
