I've been married for about a year now and due to some nigger casing my house, I feel the need to purchase a gun for home defense. I'm first time gun buyer from Nevada, with admittedly little knowledge.

All I know is that I want a Revolver. Been searching around for a while at different revolvers and found this guy right here.

Figured, you'd all know better than me, but is it a good gun?

Hey if you want a wheel gun then get a wheel gun

But the general consensus around this board is get a shotgun.
A) theyre cheaper
B)easier to shoot
C) You cant put a light onto a relvover (some exceptions apply)

Welcome to the community. whats your budget? Do you know what caliber you want?
Do you live in suburbia or have some land?
>>
>>30539561
I guess I should answer your question about the Rhino

Theres a youtube channel called "YankeeMarshal"
and he owns a couple of them. He is a big revolver guy and likes his.

Keep in mind if you dont have a concealed carry permit then you have options if the gun stays at home
>>
>>30539561
This, skip the Rhino and if you want something cheap for self defense get a Maverick 88 and then use the leftover money to get a way cheaper but still quality revolver. Or if you are dead set on the Rhino then get a shotgun now and save up for the Rhino since you'll be set back about ~$200 with an 88. Or ignore me and get the Rhino outright but I think you'd be in a much better place with a shotgun for defending your home
>>
>>30539561
I understand all the points but... yeah I just like the idea of getting a revolver.

Budget is gonna be around 1000-1500 max so fairly good budget I assume. I live in suburbs. Old henderson area of southern Nevada. Right below Vegas.
>>
>>30539673
and the only reason my budget is so high is because i got a new job that pays me more than im used to so im looking to splurge i guess.
>>
shotguns are really good for just the house, plus something you can put on your shoulder is much easier to control than something that relies on wrist strength and what not, definitely show your wife how to use it and have a few different plans in place for if the darkies come knocking
>>
>>30539701
Then fuck it. Rhino in 357 magnum

Get some good defense ammo
>hornady
>remington sabers
>Buffalo bore
etc etc
>>
There's nothing wrong with the rhino, but most of the value is in its character.

If you want something tough and accurate get a ruger gp100 in .357.

But in an actual conflict, the precise make and model of the fun hardly matters at all.

Get yourself a 500 S&W Magnum, anon.
>>
>>30539789
I notice the rhino variations are all just different barrel lengths. Does a longer barrel trade ease of concealment(something I'm not so worried about) for accuracy? Or is it largely just an aesthetic preference?
>>
>>30539919
holy fucking shit dude i want to kill a nig breaking into my house, not splatter him all over the wall.
>>
>>30540020
Yeah but if you tactically spray the AIDS on a wall you never use it becomes a trap wall for future baddies
>>
>>30540020

Just make sure you get him when he's still in the doorway so all the blowout goes outside your house. Less for you to clean up later.

Who's got that screencap of a guy who shot an intruder with a 20mm rifle?
>>
>>30539480
lol at this retard cracker plotting on killing the scary black mailman get a life loser
>>
>>30539480

Accuracy gunshop on boulder has an old ruger speed six snub for $450 and a smith 669-6 for $600.
>>
>>30539673
If you want a wheelgun, but understand how these guys want you to get a shotgun, why don't you just get the S&W governor, it can be used as both. Also, when you come back from the gun shop, load up before you get out of the car, because he could be in your house while you are gone.
>>
>>30540161
Wait really? How did he manage to do that in a house?
>>
>>30540407
I don't see anything wrong with what he is doing, he's not hunting him down and he's clearly not a fucking mailman.
>>
>>30539987
The extra distance between the sights will help make it easier to shoot accurately, the extra barrel length won't do anything for accuracy directly.

Also the length will add a fair bit of velocity, and the extra weight will make accurate follow up shots much faster/easier.

The only real advantage of short barrels is size and weight (unless you're talking about precision rifles and harmonics).

Honestly I wouldn't trust my life with it, I'd go with a S&W686 or pretty much anything S&W or Colt for wheel guns.

I just had my Rhino serviced, the cylinder started to drag wasn't spinning at all. The gunsmith took it apart, cleaned and polish it now it's working well again.

To be clear on that story:
>wife gets stopped by neighbor lady
>neighbor lady says she saw a nigger leaning on the wall up in on my porch area looking in my windows and shit
>she does neighborly duty and eyeballs him for a while before he asks her "what the fuck do you want bitch etc."
>she proceeds to go inside her house and watch him through a window until he bugs out.

My wife is easily spooked. So home protection has been a large topic of discussion lately.
>>
>>30540934
This is the guy who suggested the governor. But an AR or some sort of semi automatic pistol, or even a shotgun with it, because he may be casing the place for a group of nignogs, and revolvers aren't the fastest reload nor the highest capacity.
>>
>>30540983

>>
>>30540862
been looking at rhinos since a mateba is unrealistic since they're unicorns on the market. Or any other bottom action gun since I hear the recoil dispersal helps with accuracy under constant firing.

Any chance I could convince you to review your rhino a bit?
>>
>>30540877
Spooky.
>>

The guy was in the garage fitting a scope or something and some dudes were busting into his front door.

Mounted up and fired from unattached garage to the porch.

It's a fun range toy, double action trigger is like 15lb about as heavy as Sigma but smoother than Sigma. Single action is a nice 3~4lb pull I think it's lighter than my Glock 19.

the "hammer" doesn't stay back so when you cock it the hammer fall back into rest position but it has an indicator that's red and pop up and let you know it's cocked and ready to shoot.

The grip seems small and it is small

What else do you want to know?
>>
>>30540934
Yeah the shit that guy was doing isn't ok, the dude who said you were being racist is dense as hell.
>>
>>30541120
Can you replace the grip?
How much did it run you?
Accuracy?
Kick?
Worth the purchase?
>>
don't buy memeguns

Can you replace the grip?
> Yes see pic

How much did it run you?
> it was a long trade, I traded MPA30 (MAC-10 clone) with a nice OU skeet shooting shotgun then trade the shotgun for the Rhino so all and all cost me about $500 (MPA30 had a fake can so I could bump fire and added a soft grip sling for the front)

Accuracy?
> I am no expert for wheel gun but I can hit fist size in 25 yard in single action (it's like easy mode) double action for me it's all over the place but still land all 6 on man size target in 25 yard but mostly shoulder and nut shots :(

Kick?
> recoil is very mild and muzzle climb is little too, the 6 o'clock makes a big difference

Worth the purchase?
> range toy? yes, depend my life on it? no
>>
>>30541405
Thanks. Was looking to get it as a range toy anyway. Glad to hear my suspicions on the 6 o'clock have some merrit, shame the grip doesn't have any other options since Rhino ones look unergonomic as hell since I have large hands with long alien like fingers.

$500 is right in my wheelhouse for a meme gun for the range in the coming months if I can find one at that rate.

Thank you very much!

Good luck on your hunt for the Rhino, the grip while small it's oddly comfy to hold.

I have to say that memegun got me more interested in wheel guns
>>
I'm a vegasfag and I own an R8. Love it.

Rhino looks like an anime.

OP, if you want an anime gun get an anime gun for fun but also get some basic modern shit like Glock for your home defense.

you're an idiot, grab a shotgun, plenty of ammo, and learn to use it. after you are no longer scared of jamal buy a revolver for your super-authentic Trigun cosplay
>>
>>30539673
> I live in the suburbs
Don't get a revolver.
You will shoot through dindu and hit your hot neibor or a family member. Buy something that wont make it through your walls. the judge in .410 was a good sugestion
>>
>>30539480

Do you have any neighbors nearby that you might risk shooting through the walls? You should probably just get a shotgun
>>
>>30550389
.410 buckshot is not very powerful though.
A shell of 00-buck for a 12 gauge has three times the number of pellets
>>
>>30550554
powerful enough to make someone rethink their position. also the point is the lack of power, he has a wife and presumably chilins being in the area. would you rather sweat shot placement with a high power round or just fucking stop him where he is.
>>
>>30551261
if they are holding a gun themselves, hitting them with a round of .410 buckshot probably won't be enough to stop them from raising it up and shooting at me
>>
>>30551310
buckshot is not the only thing that goes into a shotgun shell
>>
>>30541383

But that is THE reason to buy wheelguns.

I'm just saying that adrenaline can make a person hard as fuck to take down and sometimes you need a powerful load all at once to do it. Unless you paralyze/brain someone, there is a possibility they can still attack you after you hit them. The shooter in this webm was shot in the heart after he jumped over the desk and was still shooting and circling around cover for like 10 seconds. None of the cops died because he was using 20ga birdshot. See this post: >>30551001

Anyway a Judge would be okay so long as you placed your shots well; the three or four buckshot pellets are lethal enough. And it is nice to have a cylinder to access for easily using different ammo types. It's just if you have a crazy fucker after you with a gun you might wish you had something more efficient
>>
I don't want to hijack the thread, but I don't think my question needs its own thread.
I'm in the same situation as OP, except I've narrowed it down to a Glock 19. I know a lot of /k/ hates this gun, but that's just memes, right? All I want is a reliable pistol with good accuracy, widely available parts, and cheap ammo (9mm).

Also should I go with a Gen 3 or Gen 4? I've from not-so-reliable sources that the Gen 4s are not well made.
>>
>>30551753

>>
>>30539673
Dude, with over 1 /k/ to play with, get a shotgun and a Smith & Wesson. Train with them, teach your woman to shoot them.
If you really want to defend, having more than one gun makes sense no?
And while I love my Rhino, I'm not going to recommend it for someone's only firearm.
>>
>>30551753

if gen 3's are the golden standard by which all should be measured, the gen 4 is on par with all other serious manufacturers' offerings.
