I live in the Democratic People's Republic of Chicago, and I want an AR. Problem being is, we gots one'a them scary salt weaponz bans. I mean, the law isn't really enforced(nobody's EVER been charged), but I'd rather not chance it desu senpai, so I'm getting pic related.
Which upper do I get? I want to be able to shoot anywhere between 55-77 gr pills, so 1/8th twist? Projected use will be hawgs, self-defense, general freedom.
What would you recommend?

No 'pistol grips', no telescoping stocks, no things that go up. Bayonets are fine for some reason, so are muzzle breaks, unlike some other places.
Rifle mags are capped at 10rds, pistol rounds are 15rds(though there's some debate. CCW law supposedly preempted all handgun regulation, Chicago seems to think it can regulate magazines because they're not teeeeeeechnically the gun itself.)

Dude, you're going to regret it. Just buy fuddy hard case with a Browning logo and shoot it a Maxon. Nobody really gives a shit. I carried for a decade before the Shepard case, I had handgun through the entirety of the ban, I never registered anything, I never had a CFP. Hell, when I still did most of my shooting at my property in Indiana I even went a few years without a FOID.
Bottom line here, if you aren't in a gang you aren't getting noticed.
