Cabot Gun Company's Big Bang pistol set is nothing but pure 1911 perfection.
Ordered a blued series 70 a week ago. Still waiting for it to show up at the shop. I have high hopes for tomorrow.
Just added a WC hammer, hammer strut, beaver tail, and hammer pin to my Springfield armory mil spec. Didn't require any fitting surprisingly. I couldn't get the WC sear to work with my pistol but surprisingly the hammer seems to work with my original sear. Worked fine with safety check and dry firing it. Will need to test it at the range in the coming weeks. Trigger pull feels lighter.

Slide, Frame, Sights, Beaver-Tail, Finish is COLT 2009+ Gold Cup as fuck. Stamp is not. It might have been refinished or Colt Custom.
The only thing not COLT is that safety (thumb). The rest is COLT manufacturing as fuck.

Most 1911s are fine, but all are overpriced. For $500 you can get a total piece of shit that sucks in every way when compared to a $400 polymer wonder nine. For $1200 you can get a gun that is OK, but still sucks compared to a $400 polymer wonder nine. For $3000 you can get a gun that is super accurate, fun to shoot, looks like its from space or some anime, but still sucks for practical use when compared to a $400 polymer wonder nine.
I own a Kimber Eclipse Custom II in 10mm, the superior chambering for 1911s. 10mm nets you an extra round in the mag, and a more powerful round with recoil to match the absurdly heavy frame of the 1911. Its an absolute joy to shoot, and I am super accurate with it. Would I turn to it for my carry piece? Only if my Five-seveN, M9-A1, PPSes all disappeared.

Colt is a small step up, but is regarded as the higher quality build and is also the original 1911.

Got a Para Elite the other day, so far I've put about 5 mags through it. No hang ups, no FtF or FtE, grabbed the 10 round WC mags, but they leave a lot of steel hanging out of the grip. Who makes the little plastic cover that i can install separately so I don't have to buy more expensive mags to cannibalize them?

Which Delta Elite? There are lots of them with about three generations.non of them are bad guns when it comes down to it. Pretty much just vanilla 80s series guns with less than desirable chamber support and a fuck ton of people that talk shit. The 2016 version looks promising and hopefully it's got a fully supported chamber this time.

Does anyone here own a Cimarron 1911? I'm interested in getting one and would like any info I can get. I've noticed that the only ones currently available online are the parked versions, nickel and blue is impossible to find.
