Before you go off on your boot/POG rampage may I remind you that the US Military offers exceptional educational benefits. Get as much education as you can while you are in, continue on to a Master's program once your out, and get in to a field that excites you. If you think that living a shitty life for a few years impresses any employer you are sadly mistaken.
Just some advice from a guy who got out and is doing well. I watched all my enlisted buddies drink themselves to death while they were in and they are failing miserably now. They have no formal education to speak of and are struggling through associates degrees. I had to offer to buy one guy in my old company food the other day because he hadn't eaten in days. He was to proud to accept.
