They have plenty of autos that aren't OTF, but the cheapest is still like $250. I find it strange that they market them as combat blades but have a hard time believing that an OTF lock would last longer in a stabbing or thrusting situation than a framelock or lockback.

Since they're so huge, places like Bass Pro or Cabela's might carry them, but since those brands are more "tactical" youll probably find more buck, browning, remington and more outdoors type stuff at those retailers. Generally gun stores or gear stores will carry what you're looking for.

Best bet is a local knife store or a gun store that stocks knives. If you are in the Trenton NJ area I suggest Harry's Army Navy. There is a good knife store in Port Jervis Named JT's if I remember correctly. If you are nowhere near either of the two places I just mentioned, yes Bass Pro has some Benchmade and Spyderco. Be warned though, they have nowhere near the full line and usually sell them at MSRP. Cabelas has actually upped their knife game in the last few years in regards to their inventory. They are the only major chain I know of that carries ESEE as well.

Got this knife 3 days ago. The OKC arrow by Bob dozier. It has a 3.6inch D2 steel (hollow grind fairly thin behind edge)with G10 handles and is less than 3oz. This little master piece is only $44 on amazon. I'm telling you K this is my favorite knife of 2016 and I buy 4-5 knives a month. Highly recommended.

I'm seriously excited about this knife its very thin and just dissappears as a EDC. And my example has zero blade play in any direction, perfectly centered blade, and is silly smooth/fast to deploy.

Scandi grind means the primary bevel forms the edge, which means that whoever sharpened the knife in your pic fucked up because I'm seeing a secondary bevel.
Hollow grind, as seen in the first response's image, means that the grind is concave. Flat grind means that the blade itself forms the primary bevel and is can be similar to scandi or have a secondary bevel.

scandi grind in theory doesn't have a second bevel, which means that to sharpen it, you just lay the entire bevel against the stone and whack away. Much easier to sharpen, where a flat grind requires the correct sharpening angle, and will require a blade reprofiling after a few sharpenings.

It's a combination, flat/scandi/saber/chisel have non radiused bevels, hollow and convex are radiused. Scandi grinds are generally considered to be zero grinds, meaning they don't have a secondary bevel(angle change close to the cutting edge) but other grind types can also be used as a zero grind. Each have their advantages and disadvantages although I would say in that picture both the convex and hollow grinds are hugely exaggerated for visual effect.

Scandi is twice as sharp, but rolls twice as easily. There is no " edge " it just goes straight down.
1-10€ knives in nordic hardware stores are all like that. Everyone has 5, theyre disposable, not really meant to be sharpened but that is one of the key features of the scandi, because you can clearly see when the apex is hitting the stone, and the flat angle is large enough to rest the blade on, so you dont need to guess and hold an imaginary angle, you just lay it flat and hone away.

Scandi has only one bevel. The whole cutting edge of the knife is at the same angle.
Hollow is ground with a radis on it, so as it goes farther up the blade it slopes outward.
Flat is just flat but has a secondary bevel at the edge. Its the secondary bevel that does the cutting with the rest of the blade supporting it.

Yeah, spyderco tried that with the Nilakka, S30V. And fucking sperge ruined it. They had to redo the knife with a microbevel to stop them chipping. A guy on youtube claims it was simply due to overheating the edge at the factory, and he got it good by sharpening by hand.. but I still wouldnt do a scandi with any hard steel.

Recently picked up a Svord peasant knife cause I liked the idea of a "non-locking" (UK laws are dumb as everyone knows) knife that is impossible to accidentally close on yourself.
I wasn't expecting much considering how cheap they are but fuck me it was well below what I was expecting.
The grind was totally fucked, very asymmetrical and all over the place down the length of the blade.
Still having a play about with it does leave me thinking it's too bulky.
I'd love a folding knife with some kind of "grip safety" making it impossible to accidentally close while in the hand.
Sure it's just paranoia, I've never closed a folder on myself, but I'd have more confidence in a tool with such a function for EDC.
