They look, feel, and shoot way different. Triggers are completely different (bren BTFOs stock SCAR with a pleasant 4.5lb 2 stage out of the box).

I'm not worried about wait time. I've already got plenty of planned purchases. Plus I always avoid first production runs as a rule. I'm just waiting for first hand accounts of the Bren before I make up my mind.

Mine has been great. Eaten everything from tula to my match handloads. Recoil is negligible, the bolt carrier feels like it's gliding on ice, and the trigger is amazing out of the box. Comes in around 4.5lbs, has a very well defined, but slightly extended, wall which is actually pleasant, and zero overtravel. Reset is short. The pistol grip is not swappable, but has swappable backstraps.
The stock is well made, very sturdy. It is held in the folded position mechanically, but does not lock in the folded position, it only stays with a sort of reasonable spring pressure.
It seems to do 1MOA fine with my handloads, but I haven't done a good rest test.
My only complaints are
The stock provides a good, but decidedly "different" cheek weld for someone tall like myself.
While a non-issue for me, it does weigh 8.2lbs or so. This is comparable to an MR556, but the bren has a pencil barrel.
Like any alloy upper gun, or gun with alloy handguards, it gets pretty toasty after a couple quick 30rd mags.

Thanks for the info, good to know. Now I really want to try one out. I held one a while back and it felt heavy, but 8 pounds isn't bad.
