In all seriousness, norinco is second only to russian sks. When China started to mill out sks, russians gave them all their machinery and techniques, so norinco sks are basically russian...

What kind of SKS is legal in California and where can I get one?

I know you can't have the grenade launcher, or the detachable magazine ones.
>>
>>30514248
>California

There's your problem and no cure for it.
>>
>>30514248
fixed mag, no launcher because a rippled pipe is a "destructive device"
>>
>>30514259
I know you can get one here, people have them, they're legal, but I can't find anything but vague information on them and where to get them on google. What do you do, get a Yugo one in another state and grind off the grenade launcher?
>>
Thinking of getting this Yugo M59 sks from dan's ammo. Anyone think its worth it? Not a fan of the grenade launcher look on classic fire arms. I'm new to sks in general.

Anyone know anything about the Type 84? My uncle has one and im thinking about buying it.

Civillian variant of course, i think real type 84s are too short
>>
>>30514440
That is the single most out of date website I have seen in a very long time, but for the price a rifle that "new" looks pretty solid.
>>
>>30514210
Just the early military ones. The later production and commerical ones are pretty meh.
>>
>>30514520
Well, except for the stocks. Chink wood is still shit compared to birch laminate.
>>
>>30514489

kek yeah site looks kinda shady but I emailed them so they got em. Just wondering if the bores would be super worn on them. I've heard good feedback though.
>>
>>30514305
I'm not from cali, and never will be, but the best advice is to either move or just buy whatever the fuck you want and disregard the laws because they are unconstitutional. Fight the power
>>
>>30513497
Type 56. It's pretty nifty.
>>
>>30514248
Armslist has a few SKS' that are being sold within California.
>>
>>30514520
This a million times. Their QC went downhill real fast after 1956.

Is the Yugoslav Sks a good first gun?
>>
>>30513497

I have two early 50's Russians. They're my favorite variant.

Heavy, but it's pretty fantastic. Any non fudded SKS is a good first gun.

I've got a Yugo but haven't shot it in forever, just sits in my safe. Really need to get rid of it.

1.Yugo M59

2.Chinese

3.Russian

4.Yugo m59/66
>>
>>30514248
Grab a russian or a norinco, i have a russian and its legal here. Really just leave it as a fixed mag and have the gunsmith remove the rifle grenade cup if you end up with a yugo.
>>
I gots a yugo.

it's definitely not the best, but i do like using the gas shutoff and blanks every 4th of July to launch shit. that thing can push a football far as fuck. i'd try bowling pins but i'm afraid that i'll get showered in wood splinters.
>>
>>30513643
My feet would get like that from wearing dark socks and having my workboots on all day before I started to powder my feet. The sweat makes the dye and some of the sock rub off on your feet.
Now you know.

Should I get a yugo from classic for $430 or a Type-56 packed in cosmoline and with a beat up stock for $320 ?
>>
>>30519788
Yugo. If you keep it in decent shape and don't tacticool it it'll hold its value pretty well. They're a bit beefier but the weight makes for some pleasant shooting
>>
This. Fucking. Thread.

Don't change /k/
>>
>>30519654
I bought a dummy grenade and I launch that about 100-120 yards or so. It's pretty fun.
>>
If you're Canadian go for a Russian sks. They're cheaper and there's no import ban. I was going to get one before I settled for my norinco because I didn't want to spend 500 dunnions when I could just spend 300. Get a yugo if you feel like you want to be human garbage.
>>
>>30513497
I have some Chinese variant because I got it from a friend for cheap and I didn't have an x39 yet.
>>
>>30514590
They should be good, if your still monitoring this.I emailed them too(sorry for the competition) and they seem almost completely unused. Only concern I would have is that they could show some wear and damage from just sitting for so long without being soaked in cosmoline or any other preservative. Lack of chrome and even the least bit of humidity for that long could lead to some corrosion to it.
>>
>>30515027
>tfw have an early production type 56 with the blade bayonet
>got it for the price of a usual civilian import chink sks
small crack in stock but nothing noticable
>>
>>30514440
Bought a yugo chose the hand pick option from the site, it was caked in cosmoline and looked brand new
>>
I have a Norinco and a Russian. Really need to de-Bubba the Russian, it has a railed dust cover from the idiot beforehand. Pisses me right off, since not having the original dust cover absolutely decimates its value.

>>
>>30523873
No chrome is the big one. Barrel corrosion is an issue if you want surplus ammo. Grenade launcher mechanism is the second, it is pretty easy to get it fucked up. Then there is the weight added by the launcher in the front.

Yugo is still good gun if you clean the barrel and find a M59(no launcher) instead of the M59/66

This. I got a brand spanking new never issued never fired yugo. Perfect stock. 100% bluing. I wouldn't trade it for the world . It's beyond me how anyone can suggest chink shit when we have beautiful yugo sks still for sale. And whoever stars bitching about the lack of chrome it's a non fucking issue if you clean your goddamn rifle after shooting corrosive ammo
>>
>>30524560
Yeah, non chrome isn't an issue for me. I don't think I could find corrosive ammo locally if I tried
