Hammer
>designed for hard, rapid strikes unlike bat or pan
>all metal where it counts unlike baton'/black jack
>heaviest weapon out of all
>easiest to conceal somewhere
>two sides for different styles of attack
>most versatile

And the final piece of evidence you need:

Sledgehammer with the head reinforced to the handle with steel, or just make the whole sledgehammer one piece of rock or metal.

The bat or the wooden dildo thing. Anything that has the durability to withstand beating someone and that has a modicum of ergonomics because you'll be using it in what one can assume would be tight spaces.

i'd say a carpenter's hammer if you don't have the habit of swinging hammers. a forge one if you get paid to hammer shit on a daily basis.

Too likely to get stuck, either in the attacker or a wall or some object, and can be unwieldy in close quarters. Not to mention that most "model" swords aren't made for any sort of combat or rough use and will likely break.

Also they lack the inertia of something hefty like a baseball bat, so a swing could be easier to deflect.

>Sledgehammer with the head reinforced to the handle
Sledge's tend to be pretty strong anyway. They're designed to deliver big hits a few hundred times without failing. Plus I'd imagine you wouldn't get anything like as much power behind a swing at a person as, unlike a concrete slab, they probably won't have the grace to stand still while you take a swing.

>make the whole sledgehammer one piece of rock
It'd just disintergrate as soon as you swung it.

>or metal
I've never seen a one piece sledge, although I don't use one very often to be fair. They might well exist.

On a slightly related note, if any of you burgers are coming to the UK at some point, please bring me an Estwing or two. They're stupendously expensive here.

This, I've been hit pretty hard by a sledgehammer, to the leg, and all it did was knock my leg out from under me and give me a moderate bruise.
>>
>>30513432
If all the dudes had also pulled out hammers, I would have lost my shit hard.
>>
>>30513793
Ball peen hammers are good handed blunt weapons, one with the longest handle you can find would be a good choice

The rock pick deserves mentioning too

>>30513348
A baseball bat, especially if you load it with lead in the end
>>
>>30513899
You fall on the ground after your leg got knocked out? If they aren't fast enough, hit them with the hammer while their down. Now they will stay still if hit, like a concrete block. You know why? Because there's a concrete block beneath them.
>>
>>30513901
I think she still would've fucked their shit up but would've been a cooler fight scene. Espc in a country where you can't CC, a hammer hidden wouldn't be unreasonable. Rather that than those little knives.

Sledgehammer is shit. It's massive, thick, heavy and far too rough. Just a heap of raw iron.

If you aren't a comic book character it's worthless for fighting moving targets.

If we're stuck with common blunt objects, I'ld go with a regular claw hammer for reasons outlined >>30513434

Any suggestions for a rabbit club for when the .22 doesn't finish the job? Looking for something more humane then breaking their necks. Thinking maybe an early medieval mace; I want it to be lightweight, effective, but also further satisfy my love of history/weapons.

2-3 feet of rebar.

Foot on their head, pull up quickly and done.

If you work on your home/car, a maglite.

>Pan: really i would rather it just as a cooking utensil instead of a blunt weapon, not a good option instead it is the only thing you have at hand
>Hammer: small and not so accurate, bad option at least it is the only thing you have at hand.
>Whip: this is not the middle ages nor fifty shades of grey, this may be very painful but not effective
>bat: if it a large metal or wood bat, may be effective, but sometimes they are very hard to carry, so if you are not a strong person that option is not for you
>Club: almost same has bat, but are less heavy so that could make it more handy

thats my advice, but if you want something effective, buy firearms to be safer
>>
gooseneck crowbar. It's heavy, hard, has a small focal point, and if your wrap the middle in basebal bat tape it's comfortable
>>
>>30518488
I would use another but lead ammo is banned for hunting here and that shit is hard as fuck to find here. Plus I'm just making excuses to want to buy/carry a mace instead of some wood item in my garage.

does it have to be blunt? I'd rather have a sword. Any kind that can stab. Or even a wooden spear.

If I had to choose a blunt weapon, it'd be a DIY or modified cricket bat. Give it a tapered edge to concentrate the force. So it's blunt but much more likely to break bone.

You'd better connect with that first swing, the momentum of a 50 lb weight is not going make that shit easy to bring it back around.
>>
>>30518588
>a club weighs less than a baseball bat

What? I don't know what kind of bats you were swinging, but they only weigh two pounds, and that's a Louisville Slugger. Any decent aluminum bat will still only weigh 1.5 or 2 pounds.
>>
A pickaxe handle makes a good one. Theyre designed to be swing and to create as much momentum from a swing as possible to aid use of the pickaxe. And you can get a pickaxe handle from any work site, really. Its a real pikie's weapon and can really fuck people up. My Dad's mate used one in a fight as a young man and in one swing cracked a dude's jaw in two. He never used ine again after that. Theyre lethal.
>>
>>30520564
>designed to swing and create momentum

Yeah, when the damn head is on it. Granted, the handle is still a formidable weapon, just saying.
>>
>>30520621
Well yeah what I mean is that the handle itself is even designed to have a good swing. Theyre basically made like wooden baseball bats. And here in the UK, baseball isnt really played so our version of the baseball bat as a weapon has traditionally been the pickaxe handle, because any working man can get his hands on one.

As you can see here. Big fat heavy bit on the end to get a good swing on it. Youd be surprised how well they do swing, I was holding one at work a while ago as a workmate got a new head for it, and naturally I gave it a few swings.

>>30520678

In ww1 for close quarters combat the germans and prussians found it very useful to have a shovel...

A shovel can be used for digging, hammering & scooping. also good for wood cutting and most importantly jabbing it into someone's skull through their helmet. Most importantly it does not need to be the prettiest thing in the world, Making it very easy to conceal its real purpose. just buy a decent one that will hold up really well and keep sharp.
