So there are patches, but what about whatever you slip onto the shoulder/epaulette of a jacket? I don't want to wear real rank since that's something you need to earn but I'm sure there's a videogame with a distinctive rank system I could slap on there or even just whatever neat design.

Military Patches for me are a strange bird. I'll wear any patch from any unit I served with, but any other patch doesn't interest me because it doesn't hold any special significance. It depends on what you're wearing and why you're wearing it I suppose. If you're in your 20's, wearing an OD green field jacket with a 101st Screaming Eagle from WWII on your shoulder, people aren't going to assume you're a vet.
You might get the odd question from a veteran of that unit, but the explanation of "Nope, I just think it looks really cool," or you like the history behind the unit, or whatever honest reason you have for wearing it. As long as you're not claiming to be a veteran of that unit, nobody's going to care. Foreign military patches? Sky's the limit, go for it, they're just there to look cool as far as you're concerned.
Tl;dr- It's a non issue, go for it. Just don't be a douche,but that should be a general rule for everything.

Yep had to slowly build the muscle to support the knee by doing weight lifting like squats and leg presses after phys therapy. Its definitely weaker and more stiff than the other knee but I can run and squat fine for a while.
