(check'd em)

Also what the fuck? Not enough rain to keep the water level the same, so the gun was exposed?

Secondly, this is what you get for not securing your weapon in your boat. Either have it in your hands or clipped into the holder, cocksmoker. (I realize not all boats have rifle/shotgun holders but they're cheap. If you're cheap you can even rig something up.)
>>

Can it even function at all?
>>
This resivoir doesnt usually hold much water but at the time they were converting the dam to hydroelectric so it was full as fuck for like two years. They just recently opened the dam up and since it hasn't hit monsoons yet I figured I might have a chance...
>>
Fucking rad. Any pics of it after you cleaned it up?
>>
also, it was my first attempt at duck hunting, in a shitty small kayak I had never been in (bought the week prior), and I didn't think far enough ahead for this trip...
>>
>>30505918
I'm this guy. OP just so you know, boat =/= kayak. Was a bit confused, here I was thinking you had an actual boat with a bit of room for things.

>taking your guns out on the lake kayaking and actually losing it

At least you have the vids for when the gov comes for your guns. Just don't show them the one of you getting back.

When I got home I threw it into a huge tub of water and some laundry soap to let it soak for a while. Before I left the lake I poured a bottle of water on the action and got the slide to open and also pop out the shell. Still two more shells in the tube so I want to make sure I dont fuck my self up...

Well shit... I've found pocket knives that I'd lost while hunting years previous, once a makarov mag that had gotten wedged between the cushions of a couch sitting outside but never a whole shotgun though. Impressive that you found it.

Dude, it's a gun. More than likely it just needs a little cleaning. Doesn't look badly rusted from the pic.

if you're going to hunt from a kayak get a sit on top kayak, preferably one set up for anglers as they are wider and more stable. some of them, usually the pricier ones, are stable enough that you can stand on them.

of course they'll be more expensive than the piece of shit sit in you got at walmart for $200.

I suggest getting a complete disassembly guide (The Gun Digest series is good but you can probably find the same info online) and detail strip it completely. Be sure to get the proper gunsmithing screwdrivers and pin punches. Copper/bronze brushes are good for scrubbing without leaving scratches, although the finish may be toast anyway.
Good luck and please keep posting.

You know what this means OP?

You're King Arthur, the lady of the lake took your shotgun for some otherworldly purpose.

Now she is returning it to you, so that you may take your rightful place as the True King of Urbino, Italy.

You have a duty to carve "Excalibur" on to that weapon.

All hail the king

"I want a refund, the barrel started rusting out of nowhere!"

Watch out as OP will need a tool to take off the rusted-in-place cap of the tub to take out the pins holding the trigger with it without needing a tool forthe later task.

The Benelli Armi SpA company, better known simply as Benelli, are world class manufacturers of sporting and military grade shotguns. High quality steel and the finest wood from the Italian alps are used for the majority of their products, but Benelli also offers a variety of firearms in the same polymer plastics used for construction in spacecraft and high atmospheric aircraft. A little mud and some water won't harm them, even for extended periods of time. A little elbow grease and some oil, and that Benelli will be good to go in no time.

Visibility in that water will be zero because of the mud. You want to try free diving fully clothed with no sight of what you're looking for?

Plus your kayak escapes with the rest of your stuff while you're doing it. It probably doesn't have an anchor.

Honestly if you only use it as a bird gun the chamber pressure will never amount to something dangerous. Although, PLEASE do a full video of the restoration. I bet it will be in firing order in just a few hours of hi pressure and solvents and a few choice oils.
>>
That's pretty cool, especially the way it stuck in the mud like that.
