Well I'm looking to invest in a home defense shotgun. I'm looking for advice, recommendations, accessories for said shotgun. I own an old 20 gauge shotgun my grandfather passed on to me. But I'm looking to upgrade to a 12 gauge. I hear pistol grip shotguns are kinda more fir show than a standard stock shotgun. Anyway what do you guys recommend?

It is supposed to be pretty reliable. I haven't done extensive testing reliability testing myself, of course, so I guess I don't know.
Mossberg 590A1:when you absolutely, positively, need to have 9 shots of fuck you, ready at all times.

In NH, yes. Long guns can be stored in vehicles but must be unloaded. Handguns must be unloaded unless you have cc permit

in THEORY they are a great idea, but lets run thru a scenario...

I'm not saying that will happen 100% but even a small % chance of it happening made me get a regular old stocked shotgun.
I know people will respond and say "hurr durr it wont happen" but if you are woke out of a fucking dead ass sleep you may not have all your bearings about you and forget the shotgun can break your god damn face.

If thats the case you can do the same thing with a stock....so...why get a pistol grip one other than it looks cool. I own one so dont get me wrong its nice but for a OH GOD SOMEONES IN MY HOUSE situation it isnt the go to for me.

I use 4 buck but I live in a state without castle doctrine, so my HD plan is shelter in place with bead on the door while calling 911. If I have to shoot, errant shot has to go through four sections of drywall, a shower stall, and refrigerator followed by an exterior wall if it's going to leave the apartment. Max range from bed to door about 15 feet.

I think that vertical pistol grips on 12g shotguns are a bad idea as well, but I really enjoyed my raptor grip. I just wish they made a folded stock version.

I practically shoot PGO shotguns more than regular stocked shotguns, and not with low recoil stuff either. The only load that stings the palms is 2oz maximum load turkey shot. Kicks about 50% more than 3" magnum slugs.
