Armor Officers these days either bounce between Tanker units, or Cavalry. Though Cold War days I'm pretty sure that the roles were much more integrated than when I was in.
Don't see much of that anymore other than with 3rd ACR, and that is even debatable.

I'm not knowledgable as to wheather child sex abuse in military families is or isn't significantly higher than in non-military families. Abused children, however, do murder their parents at a higher rate than non-abused ones. In fact, the odds that this was rape motivated are much higher than the odds that she was simply sociopathic or a developing serial killer. Those deviants are incredibly rare. Child sex abuse, and victims who murder their abusers, are somewhat less rare.
