Oh shit niggers, it's the 4th of fucking July. What are you faggots buying today? Post em'.

Personally, I'm a nofuns, and I'm looking to pick up my first gun today, probably from an online retailer rather than in-person. Help me decide, based on the cost and quality of available guns/ kits, with which gun I should pop my gun cherry:

>The best possible AR-15 kit within $500-700. Personally, I'd like to own a decent AR-15 before the ban, and eventually swap out the lower for one of my own make. Unfortunately, I'd need retard-tier help picking out the best kit possible for its sale price, as I don't have a clue about what consitutes a good-quality AR kit, nor which companies manufacture the best for the cheapest.
>A new, $350 Mossberg 500, 12g, 7+1 capacity. Also includes a decent laser sight (laserlyte center mass.) Although I don't know much about guns, this seems like an incredible deal for what I'd be getting, and thus pretty much impossible to ignore.
>Technically, my funs budget is up to $800, including ammo costs, so feel free to write in any third-party candidate.

With either gun, I'd be looking for something useful both for HD and Gub Mints™/ end of the world scenarios. I'd really prefer to avoid "do what you like best" arguments, as I have shot both guns and liked both of them. Thanks in advance (or not,) and have some fuckin' titties.

Nice! Just make sure not to leave any "fireworks" in your local park, otherwise somebody might "accidentally" get their leg blown off.

Realized that my OP pic is not very titular whatsoever. Going to rectify that.

Not without driving over an hour to even find one; I've already checked, and most of the best places around here are out of stock. Not to mention that I'd like it new, and the best AR-15 possible for the price I'd be paying. With in-store purchases of any kind, you lose that flexibility.

Tell you what, OP

>Hi-Point 9mm Carbine = Anywhere from 200-300 bucks, let's say 250 if you buy online (don't worry about used, they have a truly unlimited warranty that is passed along with the gun, used or new)
>1000 rounds of bulk ammo = usually around 200 or so but Lucky Gunner's having sales right now I think
>50 rounds of Remington Golden Saber 9mm +P ammo = 50 bucks (I'll explain what +P is in a moment)
>Redball Sports 20 rd. magazine = I think somewhere around 25 bucks?

So let's talk about the gun. It's a 9mm carbine. You might find it a bit homely, but it's reliable, it's accurate, and no matter what condition it's in or who you bought it from, it's under a no questions asked warranty. Also it handles +P ammo.

If it's your first gun ever, you can't go wrong. The 9mm cartridge is piss easy to shoot, and really inexpensive to horde. This means that you will be able to aim it effectively in a defense scenario, and the recoil won't hurt your accuracy. It also means that you are able to take the gun out to ranges more often and practice more often, since you aren't breaking the bank on ammo. Plus, if you live in the city, many indoor ranges are pistol only, but will allow pistol caliber rifles.

You might ask, "What about the 9mm weak meme?". Well, this rifle can eat just about any ammunition you can throw at it. Some guns are picky, but not this baby. Also, of note, this rifle can accept +P ammunition.

+P ammo is ammo that has added gun powder, it means "Overpressure". not all 9mm guns can shoot it safely, but the Hi Point can. This means that in a home defense situation, you can have higher power ammo than standard 9mm target loads.

The only real drawback to the gun besides its ugliness is its 10 round capacity magazine. However, Redball Sports makes an excellent 20 round magazine (pictured here in the gun) which makes it even UGLIER but it shoots 20 rounds before reloading.

It's pretty much the ideal first gun.
>>
Just read how someone sold a hipoint for weed and you could see his Newport pack.
>>
>>30495467
So basically you can own a reliable accurate dependable firearm, with plenty of cheap normal ammo for the stockpile, and that's also able to accept +P home defense ammo, that is now capable of being a 20 round gun, for... Let's see

>250 for the gun
>200 for 1000 rounds of 9mm
>50 for 50 +P rounds
>about 100 dollars for 2 20 round Red Ball mags and 3 regular 10 round mags (you also get two 10 rd mags with the gun itself)

Comes out to about 600 bucks, which is what you'd pay for a bottom of the line AR, which is without the more than 1000 rounds of ammunition and extra magazines

>>30495576

Sort of? I figure I should clarify this for non-politically savvy operators anyway: Although the USA does allow its member states to write their own firearms legislation, in accordance with the will of the founding fathers and the Second Amendment, there actually is a non-insignificant catch to our beloved "freedom" as we understand it. That catch is known as the Supremacy Clause, which can be found under article II of the Sixth Amendment:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supremacy_Clause

Basically, what this translates to is equivalent to saying "Anything the fed says, goes." What this means is that if, say, Hillary Clinton were to decide that certain guns are going to be classified as "assault weapons" and have their purchase/ sale/ ownership restricted nation-wide under federal law, she can (and will) absolutely do that.

Don't get me wrong, I fucking hate Hillary and everything she stands for, and I highly disagree that any gun should ever be classified as illegal to purchase, but that is absolutely the excuse she will use to justify her bullshit gun-control plan. Sure, there's the limited possibility that some states will say "No, fuck you," but that's exactly what they are: Possibilities which are limited by a variety of extremely annoying political factors. Because she will have significant control over Congress's ability to set the federal budget (especially during her first year in office,) she can freely threaten dissenting states with a reduced cashflow, placing a lower priority on their Senate initiatives, etc... For many states, opposing another AWB would be tantamount to economic suicide.

TL;DR - If you ever want to buy a Gub Mint™ gun, do it NOW.

Back for more fun, now with a full stomach and some additional titties. What do you guys think the absolute best AR-15 kit that I could buy around $500-800 might be? I'm trying to compare my options, but I basically have no idea about what qualifies as a decent AR-15 kit, so I have no baseline off of which to make my comparison. Sorry for all the questions, I'm kind of a poorfag so I really want to consider my options carefully before I make my decision.

Are any of these any good? What is the difference between these kits http://palmettostatearmory.com/ar-15-05/rifle-kits.html

Your basic bitch AR-15 that's ready to shoot out of the box is probably an M&P 15 or Ruger 556. I have an M&P 15 and it's a great shooter that was ready for plinking when I unpacked it.
>>
>>30496765
This anon knows what's up. Building from parts isn't for everyone and there's a few single-use-tools that really add to the cost if you don't want to risk fucking your lower up. It's nice to be intimately familiar with your rifle though, and I think well worth the extra price of a few punches.
>>
>>30496784
I agree, but I was in the same boat as anon (read: poor and stupid), so I got the M&P. Now come what may I currently have something that shoots and I'll always have a complete lower with a roller-mark I'm quite partial to.

My niggas: Would you recommend a specific kit/ link?

As to familiarity, that's the goal: I want to force myself to get very familiar with the rifle, otherwise I never will. As to the lower, I'm definitely going to machine my own lower from an 80% later down the road, but that's not as immediate of a concern for me as actually getting the gun itself. As such, I'm not including those costs in my budget.

Anything by PSA is recommended by /k/ generally. I'm preferable to Aero lowers and parts kits. Just don't bother with the $20 extra upgraded trigger, it's just not worth it.

>>
>>30496880

http://palmettostatearmory.com/ar-15-05/rifle-kits.html

So, what actually is the difference between these three kits? They're all differently priced, so they've got to be different somehow, right?

>>30496890

Unfortunately, the places around here are out of stock in terms of AR's, so I'd probably miss the big sales that way. I live in the more suburban part of PA where there aren't quite as many guns/ gun shops, but I'm moving into Philly very soon for a job.

>Hillary Clinton were to decide that certain guns are going to be classified as "assault weapons" and have their purchase/ sale/ ownership restricted nation-wide under federal law, she can (and will) absolutely do that.

You should maybe review some 11th grade Civics books before you post anymore.

If she gets elected, Hillary won't be writing new laws and AWBs. That's not what the President does. EOs can only direct that the government abide by or implement existing laws.

Congress is where new laws come from. Right now, both houses are comfortably Republican. That's why the last spate of gun bans went nowhere and the Dems had a temper tantrum.

Now, there'll be some changes when the election rolls around. In the Senate, the Dems need to take 4 seats if Hillary wins or 5 if Trump wins to take control of the chamber. Right now it's looking like they'll pick up 3 to 5 seats, so assume the balance will shift in the Senate.

In the House, the Dems need to pick up 30 seats to get a majority. Chances of that happening are slim to nil.

Final result: no new bans. The Dems need both houses of Congress to pass any new laws, they just don't have the horsepower to do it. They're also facing a narrow window of opportunity- Republicans will regain control of the Senate in 2018.

Worst case scenario, Congressional gridlock. Best case scenario, strong enough Republican majority that we have a decent shot at getting some laws rolled back.

She has a 2 year window of opportunity. Senate has to confirm before she seats anybody. She MIGHT have a friendly Senate for the first half of her term. It won't be an overwhelming majority, either. It's not going to be like Obamacare, where they had enough votes to do it regardless of what we did. All we need to do is flip one of the indys, no confirmation.

Also, Hillary might wind up replacing one of the justices that Bill put on the court. That's a status quo situation, and the Senate might hold out for a more centrist nominee.
