It's actually a pretty rare 1949 Tactical Model Leonard Mosin. Back in WWII, the British and French teamed up to develop a line of tactical rifles - the first of their kind - in order to arm spec ops soldiers for tactical work behind enemy lines. This version has a black coating and bipod for use as a FORCE RECON Scout Sniper.
People on this board call it "Smelly" because it has a history of smelling strangely when heated up (such as when firing). Actually I'm a bit of a "old guy" around here so I remember when the term first came up xD
But it's a really rare and valuable piece of history, friend. Treat it well. 'tis always a treat to see stuff like this, which is why i love /K/!

Also, just to piss you off: I plan on buying several SMLEs, fully intending to butcher every one of them. It's just a great bolt action. The wooden furniture is heavy, and not very ergonomic anyway.
