This thing. Ak4 (better known as G3)

It's heavy as shit, only takes 20 rounds and is generally pretty bad compared to other modern rifles.

But it is sure as hell fun to shoot.

If you draw and fire on someone attacking you then you might regret it later. That extra few seconds it takes to realize you forgot to turn the safety off could easily spare you from the regret of actually shooting your attacker.

Homie, if you're training with a pistol that has an external safety, you train to where your reaction draw also is thumbing off the safety. You don't draw>aim at target>safety off>pull trigger
you draw&safety off>aim>pull trigger

>>
>>30493261
when I first entered service, I was originally a SAW gunner. I received a literally brand new M249 SAW. I even had the pleasure of removing it from it's box and plastic wrap. and then proceeded to clean the fucker for literally a week non-stop. then the entire company went out to the MG range to break in our brand new SAW's. one after another, on the third burst, they spit out their feed paws out the side. or they had some other issue that caused them to fuck up. took almost a year of firing those fuckers before they would work properly. but then they were pretty fucking reliable.

also, on a side note, I once watched a buddy of mine spit on the bolt of his 240B for lube and it was able to keep firing(thanks supply for not getting us any CLP when we're in the fucking desert).

and never use spray lube on a M2. kinda found that out the hard way.

same with the magazines, slightly different, noninterchangeable
>>
>>30494534
1st: no, it jams up after only a couple rounds. it doesn't lubricate the M2 enough for it to work. My M2 was originally built in 1944, rebuilt in 1966, and then again in 2006. had 2 serial numbers(LOL). you really had to get that thing dripping wet in order to function properly. I'm not joking when I say I had a half gallon of CLP in the turret with me at all times.

2nd: most common problem I had was it was the feed paws were not operating properly and the gun would either shoot the paws out with the links or it would chew up the ammo and/or links. I don't remember a whole lot else, I got moved to Anti-Armor after a couple months and never looked back.

3rd: the last time a MAS .223 went for sale, It brought home over $10k. and there is no replacement parts for the guns for when they break.
>>
>>30494838
Was there any reason for that or was it just the French mistaking retardation for pride again?
>>
>>30494856

It may be massive, it may be heavy, it may have wristbreaking recoil (but I think that's just from Britbongs being used to firing black powder .455 revolvers with one hand and not something as overtly powerful as for example the .45 Mars Long ammo WITH ONE HAND) it may have the world's highest barrel on a handgun, but damn if it isn't sexy and unique

They aren't that bad. The problem is that it's overengineered for an LMG because they tried to reduce the weight and as such it isn't as simple as a LMG needed to be in a squad based scenario.

It's also still 5.56mm for the most part so it is shit by default.

Stop regurgitating stale memes already.
The FAMAS F1 shoots standard M193 ammo, and the French military has been using foreign made ammo for the last 15 years.
It's magazine has absolutely nothing to do with an AR15 mag though, the magazine catch locks on the front, not the side.
