Whats the most expensive accessory on your rifle?
>>
>>30482823
SCAR owners really will do anything to get rid of the boot. I don't blame them, for the price it should look pretty and come with a cup holder.

Stock selectors are fine. My thumb likes the aftermarket ones. I find it kind of funny that Noveske makes a 60 degree AR selector designed to use SCAR levers.

I prefer GDi

I suppose larue might have sold brando, the late based Pat Rogers, and more. Using an ARMS mount is like using a Gen1/2 NVG, there are better options out there, and you know it.

>>30491067
Not a pistol range, just a smaller private bay where they let you rapid fire.

Normally I'd be on the 100yd line but I usually snag a bay when I take a friend shooting for the first time, let's them have a little fun without having to worry about bothering other range-goers.

It's been surprisingly effective at making them stop being anti-gun.

Nofuns reporting. I am trying to decide if I should pick up a super cheap Mossberg 500 with a laser sight (around $340 total) or a nice AR-15 kit made cheaper with a July 4th sale. What would you guys recommend in terms of AR-15 kits (that are in stock and on-sale?)

Unless you got big bucks, buy a ruger 10/22 first. Seriously -- most of the fun of owning a gun is being able to go shooting. Shooting anything other than .22 gets expensive as fuck fast. Milsurp calibers are cheaper than random others, but it's honestly still a big bite if you try to shoot decently often.
>>
>>30493576
My friend has that it's a blast to shoot considering how cheap .22lr is. I wanted to get into the rifle world I think I'm just gonna build my own ar-15 first and use the normal 223/556 since that is cheaper than these bigger rifle rounds.

Best of luck. Rustoleum is a close second to Sherwin Williams desu.

Also, listen to >>30498368 because putting most spraypainted stuff in heat tends to do wonders for the curing process. An oven works too, in case you don't have a blow dryer for some austere reason.

Now, that all being said, you're still posting worst caliber. Go talk to arg, maybe the tripfags there will give you better feedback.

"What is it like to fire an AR-15? It’s horrifying, menacing and very very loud.

It felt to me like a bazooka — and sounded like a cannon.

But mostly, I was just terrified.

Squeeze lightly on the trigger and the resulting explosion of firepower is humbling and deafening (even with ear protection).

The recoil bruised my shoulder, which can happen if you don't know what you're doing. The brass shell casings disoriented me as they flew past my face. The smell of sulfur and destruction made me sick. The explosions — loud like a bomb — gave me a temporary form of PTSD. For at least an hour after firing the gun just a few times, I was anxious and irritable."

LWRCi isnt very good. I mean the REPRs that dont have undersized magwells are fine, and the other issues sorted out now. Those rifles are fine. But as a company? Not so much. The founder of the company that forced to quit? yeah long gone. The team that came in after him and actually made it a decent company? Yeah, they all left too.

Im not a KACfag. If anything my brand of choice these days would be falkor defense, with mega coming in second. That said id love to see Novekse come back out with the N6 line again. They actually made .308 ARs with the idea of being battle rifles.

>>
>>30513598
>be all sight for CQ and mid to long ranges

There isn't one. Trying to make a sight do most things well ends up with one doing all things poorly.

Clearly identify the task and then pick the right tool for the job. Long range? Get a scope. Short to medium distance, low power variable. CQC, pick your flavor of red dot.

If you want to cover all bases you're going to need more than one sighting solution. Piggybacked and offset dots/irons are there for a reason. Of course there's a weight penalty as a result, no such thing as a free lunch.

Whats a good optic for an 18 in barrel?
>>
So since I've had my scar, i've had a poorfag optic on it (Primary arms 4-14acss) and while it has been great for me, I was thinking of upgrading to a higher quality optic. At the moment I am thinking about either the Acog with the PA acss reticle or maybe taking the leap for the premium series (made in japan) 1-8x variable. There is not a lot of reviews out there but everything I have seen on it has been highly praised. Any thoughts?
>>
>>30513962

The Elcan doesn't really offer anything besides a heavy, overly complicated method of offering only two magnification settings via a fouling prone mechanism in a housing with wobbly external adjustments. There are much better options for what the Elcan proposes to do, e.g. S&B Short Dot or US Optics SR-8C.

Are you wanting a lower low end? Would you be hamstrung by a high end 1/2 as high?

not really sure, At the moment i can really only do 3-400 yards so both will work with what I am doing just fine, while also have targets around 50yards so the 1x on the 1-8 f seem nice.

At 3-400 yds, an 8x top end is pretty good.
For closer stuff that 1x will be nice.
I like how the ranging parts are on both sides in that optic, I might get it just to try it out, already got a 34mm mount laying around.

Interesting concept. It's not really that good.
And a x6 is kind of weak for .308
