Not him but as a combat veteran and paratrooper, I was invited to attend an 11th airborne reunion. They were old school, brown jump boot paratroopers. They told me about having to tie their sleeping bags (fart sacks) to trees because otherwise, they would slide down the mountains. Fucking hectic. They would throw pineapple grenades in front of them instead of doing recon. Airborne Infantry are fucking crazy.

Actually I bought and paid for the green AR, the AK, the .410, and one of the lever action .22s with my own money. The other guns are technically my anti gun dad's that he inherited from his father. He was going to have them destroyed but I convinced him to keep them. I'm lucky they were mostly fudd guns except for the one AR, or they certainly would've been donated to the nearest police station. My friend introduced me to the chins when we were 14/15, I lurked for like 6 mos then slowly started posting. Then I posted a reaction to the SEAL copy pasta and didn't post again for another year. Years later I've bought a nugget, AK, derringer, built an AR and have 5 80s to mill out.

24 yr old here, any generation has hope. But there is a large amount of informed, patriotic young men and women out there. A lot think that they have no real opinion in what is happening in politics right now because they're too compartmentalized socially. Everyone has their own little world in their phones now and feel very separate from what's happening around them. There's hope but wake up calls like Orlando help them see. Don't think that it's all lets get peace of love to save the day. Guns can't be both good and bad, especially when the state is trying to say this.
>>
>>30487167

>>
>>30488063
This is what life is all about! When you start making your own decisions and start to separate your mind from the short coming of your childhood. To use them as a reason WHY to be empathetic but NOT sympathetic and be willing to hold people ACCOUNTABLE by their actions right there and then. A very soft America is alive in the youth right now but people are very quickly realizing the enemy is among us and has been with us for years.
>>
>>30488603
It isn't even about not paying attention to the world around them, it's more about not having the energy/motivation to worry about fights that (probably) don't affect them when they are worrying about things like paying for school, rent, food, etc. The problem isn't that they're "too compartmentalized" it's that they realized that they aren't leaders, and by themselves they are far too weak to affect any change, so why even bother wasting time/energy/emotion in attempting to change another's beliefs, or the laws of their own state, when as a single person I am not going to affect any kind of change, regardless of how articulate my words are, what degrees I have, or what my mommy and daddy do for jobs.

If you're not born into the political climate your chances of affecting any real change, especially any real change that you are attempting to change due to your beliefs, are slim to none.

Beliefs serve no purpose in modern day world. It's only, "How can *I* survive, how can *I* do better for myself?"

Why should they worry about gun laws, or tax laws, or the trade agreements, or NAFTA, or any of that shit, when they have to decide if they are going to get groceries or diapers for their child?

This country and it's States have fucked the general population so much (I hesitate to use the term the "99%") that how can we possibly worry about changing anything politically when our decisions are based on continuing to have a place to live and food to eat?

It isn't about holding OTHERS accountable for their actions, but holding OURSELVES accountable for our actions. I just posted this >>30488675
and the point I'm trying to make is that the "younger" generation (which I am no doubt a part of) places too much blame on how others have made the situation and not enough on how they can change the situation for themselves, because just by themselves, how can they (we) change anything?

It's going to be ten years before this generation holds even a modicum of power in a capacity enough to affect even the tiniest change. Too many have accepted this as an inevitable defeat and not their generations battle. The only difference is, those born in the 20s had to worry about WWII, those born in the 40s and early 50s had to worry about Vietnam/Korea (things weren't SO fucked then, but still totally fucked). This generation's great enemy is not another nation, but our own, and until we can realize this and stand up TOGETHER, we are doomed to fall apart.

I feel like I've made a decent and logical point (from my point of view) so I'm going to bump the thread in hopes I can either get someone that's under 25 to argue, or older than 25 to redpill me. I know it's the middle of the afternoon and a Sunday so you guys are out at the range and/or dealing with things that you can't do during the week, but I'm going to bump anyway.

Was hoping to go to the range but didn't today. What I said really isn't an opposing view and we have exactly the same feelings. I was trying to affect a view that we have to help others like us to understand its in their hands, not someone else. That their voice and rifle matters. A lot of people I meet (greater Orlando area) feel like patriotism is cheesy and kind of shallow. Or not truly heart felt when I talk about how our nation is being torn up politically.
Take my coworker yesterday, we work across the bench from each other every day. He told me one day that he wants to guy a Glock one day and I asked if he's interested in my opinions/advice. So we started talking more and more about subjects related. I wasn't trying to red pill him but just tell him about events without putting my opionion into it so he'd be able to see things for what they were and to realize how censored everything is. Things really ramped up I think when he was bar hopping close to the shooting at Pulse. Yesterday he said that how can an individual create change and it seemed like even though he had personally felt vulnerable to life threatening events, he still didn't feel that "FUCK! IM MOTIVATED" feeling I have. I told him he DOES have power and its in his fingertips and those he chooses to talk to about their rights. I'm not going to talk to him much about this stuff since yesterday's talk BC I want to see if anything I say really sticks to him. We're like 2 years apart in age but I feel like we are a different type of citizen all together.
>>
>>30489497
That's the point I was trying to make.
You said he said
>"Yesterday he said that how can an individual create change".

Two years apart, ten, twenty, or sixty, it doesn't matter. He has the idea in his head that the government and other ruling powers have absolute say and that nothing he can do as a person will have any effect on what is going down.

The redpill has nothing to do with gun laws, or Pulse, or transgender bathrooms, or kid's lunches (Fuck you Michelle, take a lesson from Eleanor) it has to do with that this generation doesn't believe that they as an individual can influence others to make choices that benefit their point of view and their beliefs.

Saying "How can an individual create change" is the same as saying "What is your AR-15 going to do against those drones and tanks, hmm??"

The feeling of inferiority and powerlessness (especially in the political climate) is so vast that they cannot even believe, or choose not to (because it would be hard, WAHH) that they have their own beliefs and choices to make that CAN and WOULD influence others.

I misunderstood, kind of jumped to conclusions (damn I'm a hypocrite) when I saw you say (imply? to my understanding, anyway) that the latest generation (ours) has ignored the problems not due to lack of ability/motivation/support but laziness due to consumerism and electronics.

Talk to your co-worker. Baby steps at first, people tend to react to their beliefs being challenged in a radical way (in his mind, logical in ours) by further digging themselves in, even if logically he knows you have an argument, it becomes an issue of self pride at that point and maybe you'd be surprised (maybe not, I don't know you/your life) to find that people really don't readily admit they're "wrong" as it's seen as "defeat". They make decisions based off of emotions and when you attack their emotions by attacking their beliefs, directly or indirectly, implied or not, all they're going to do is plug their ears and go "NO NO NO, I HEARD THIS FROM XYZ ON CNN/MSNBC/FUCKINGNEWS THAT OBAMA/[INSERT SENATOR HERE] SAID OTHERWISE, AND THEIR VIEW SUPPORTS MINE (and due to their higher position in life they must know more than us and therefore, I am right)

He's smart and introspective enough to realize what he said because I didn't type everything that was said after I pointed out very gently wheat he said, I'm only highlighting one sentence out of six months of conversations. It's all good fAm. Sounds like your fighting the same fight.
Let's exchange techniques and develope a growing conversation here. When I red pill people I always tell them they're making their own decisions on the matter and say that I am doing my best to not put my subjective opinion into what I'm about to tell them. Then proceed to tell them about an event I heard about and then without going on to tell them anything more than the event, ask them how they feel (if theyre a woman) or what they think (if they're a man) about the subject at hand. Without making them feel like I'm walking them though a self masturbation ego driven monologue to further my own self esteem but to actually pry open their mind.

I see. That's where we differ. To me, the problem with most people is that they refuse to believe they have the free will to do (almost literally) whatever the hell they want, whether that be murdering the next guy that cuts you off, fighting against a tyrannical government (never gonna happen, at least not in a SHTF sense) or simply choosing to believe in themselves and in the fact that if THEY believe they can make a difference. Then all you need is the next few guys to believe that they can make a difference too, and together you can make enough of a difference to be heard, and before you know it you have shit like ISIS and Al Qaeda (in the most extreme sense, guerilla warfare against what is seen by them and their logic as an invading/persecuting government or a rightful holy war to protect their religion/BELIEFS) or worker's unions (in the sense that the power of numbers is their only real power, the ability to get mass amounts of workers to strike at the same time).

You can redpill them with facts on gun legislation, the stats on murders with legally owned weapons vs stolen/illegal obtained weapons, but the real matter is that they don't believe that they can form an opinion for themselves that MATTERS, so they latch on to whatever opinion closest fits their own. This is why we have two fucking political parties (in the states anyway) because no one believes that they can change that shit, it's way too late, so why not vote for the lesser of the too evils? Out of the frying pan and into the fire, I say. Either you live with the idea that your own beliefs will always and forever be influenced (or even created) by the press and the popular opinion and roll with it, or you make the decision to form your own fucking beliefs.

It sounds (to me) like this guy is refusing to stick up for HIMSELF first. Believe in yourself and your morals, and everything else will follow.

(sorry if this makes little sense, I've been drinking since like 8am yesterday)

I only help those who are willing. I skim the surface and into people's minds to see if they are moderate. Only moderate can be/k/ome something new. I don't waste my time. I'm basically explaining how I survey before I go into deeper levels on conversation.
Your step is another phase which is important. FREE WILL and ORIGINAL THOUGHT. Those things cannot be engrained and it takes the greater man to realize this. We all cannot be Neo. Only people who have that spark in their heart are worth our time. Look for the moderates, don't try and prey open eyes that have been sewn shut because they'll be blinded by the blood of their horrible wounds. And be embarrassed by the fact that they were sewn shut. That's why I choose the approach of letting them form their "own" conclusions. So they are less embarrassed and open up more. These people are very quick to agree just to get us to shut up and then talk to everyone less once we walk away about how they truly feel. Remember that. It takes the art of subtlety (not saying you don't) but it's the gentle firm hand that wins. The eyes that are clouded are the only ones that can be wiped clean.
I like you anon, I am quick to judge when drunk as well. At least your coherent.
>>
>>30490741
That makes sense, it just doesn't feel to me that it is that subtle (or morally right, but in this case, as in this battle and many others, both metaphorical and literal, morals go out the fucking window until it is a show for the people/your supporters) to try to plant the seeds of suggestion with the intent to get them to see your point of view on their own. That is propaganda at it's finest. Cold hard facts are what the people need, but unfortunately they are one of the many, many things that are clouded by opinion and bias. I weep for this world and I weep for the world my children's children will inherit, for I swear by God that as long as my children have life upon this Earth I will never stop the battle to increase their chances of happiness and prosperity.

Anyway good talking to you, I have to take care of real life things. I understand your point, even if I disagree on how to get the message across, the message is the same, and since there are many kinds of people who will listen to many different types of advice and opinions, who am I to say how you can possibility affect your co-workers morals or beliefs?

Good luck convincing him, all I am trying to say is that you might be going about it wrong, and he might actually listen to a chart of statistics from a trusted source other than the US gov (or any gov for that matter) such as Pew in order to form his opinions. Just a thought.

That's why I said "seems" as in "in my opinion" as in "according to what *I* have seen", according to *MY* interpretation of the reverse image search and the fact that most of the images were of HaG it was a logical conclusion to make at the time, as someone who has never played Wargame. You have informed me otherwise in quite a rude manner, yes you are right, but that doesn't make you any less of an asshole.

4chan was created by a 15 year old for other 15 year olds. The target audience has 15-20 year olds from 2003 to 2016. The 18+ rule is only there for legal reasons.

You're a degenerate redditor if you honestly think what you posted.

I'm 21 btw

Seriously breh, if you want an adult-oriented weapons forum, look somewhere else. There are hundreds of them. But you wont, you'll stay here. Why? Because you like the content and you fit in here. That's not even true, look what happened to the harry potter generation. These things age with the group who is the primary user. The first movie was some little kiddie ha ha magical world movie. The last one was full of death, darkness, and extremely strong tones of evil vs good, morals vs conscious, etc.

The same shit happened to countless other things. If it wasn't for the new kids coming and most of the old fuckers out growing this place in the last decade since it's been around, it has changed dramatically.

Not in any "it was better before" sense cuz it was always shit, but it is definitely different.

Any place that wants to talk about guns but not sell them. (mostly anyway, few notable exceptions)
