It depends on what you want OP. Do you want a tacticool shotgun? Do you prefer tube fed or detachable magazines? Do you intend on using it for home defense, clay shooting, or hunting?

Its an AK with a slightly longer and thicker barrel. Sure a regular format shotgun may be better for skeet shooting or hunting but for defense nothing is better. You simply can't be a removable magazine.

It's still significantly heavier than most shotguns on the market.

I used the ones which came with my VEPR and they jammed like a motherfucker.

It's also beefier than a standard AK. That said if OP is looking for home defense I'd suggest the VEPR-12 or 930 JM Pro, but he never specified. For the other reasons to buy a shotgun, the VEPR isn't well suited for them.
