My pw 87gun has surprised me on how good it is.
It was surprisingly smooth out of the box.Never gave me a problem cycling and shooting high brass ammo .Hell even shot skeet with it and got 15 out of 20.

Man, no need to go crazy like that. I have a respectable setup with less than 1/3 of that.
Just pick up a mossy 590 or rem 870, get a flashlight and mount of your choice and a side saddle. Get a model with a 20 inch barrel and tube for that extra round or two. Could also pick up a second longer barrel to go hunting with.

Although your own personal preference is ultimately the deciding factor, you really can't go wrong with any of these on this list; however, if you find something even better for a good price, don't limit yourself to cheap options either.
Here's a few ideas:
>Maverick 88 (any)
>Used Mossberg 500 (full inspection and replace magazine tube spring)
>Used Remington 870 (wingmasters are more sought after, try not to buy post-acquisition if you can; replace magazine tube spring, ensure ejector is pinned correctly)
>NEF/H&R/Winchester/Other single shot shotguns new or used (check the transfer bar)
>Stevens US made double barrels/pump actions (models include 520, 620, 67h, 311, etc... Despite being cheap, quality is actually quite good; be aware of low resale value though)
>Winchester 1200/1300 used (underrated shotguns, perhaps not quite as good as good fit and finish as others; replace magazine tube spring)
>Used Benelli Nova (remember that poly receiver though)
>Ithaca 37 used (quite uncommon for this price, but if you can find a takedown model that isn't beaten to hell, they're typically great; replace magazine tube spring and thoroughly clean action)
Scour pawn shops and sporting goods stores, haggle if at all possible. A good shotgun doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg, and anyone who tells you otherwise is trying to sell you something.

I already have a Benelli Supernova, but I was thinking of getting one since they're $89 at my local Academy, plus I have a $50 gift card.

Yildiz is a decent Turkish make. That gun has an aluminum receiver, and is pretty light. It can fold up nicely for packing (up in Canada it's easy to get the version with the 13 inch barrel which makes them a nice backpacking gun).
The only real downside is that they are really light, which will make them a hassle with heavier rounds (they have a 3 inch chamber).

The Ithaca 37 doesn't have an ejector port, I'd say the Remington 870 is the closest match. They used a cap gun for the in game renders, so there's that
