I'm looking for a new fighting utility kind of knife but nothing really stands out

Bayonets and Fighting knives are shit are pretty much anything but slicing and stabbing. Look into serious bush knives that can be used for self defense if necessary. Also

Sog SEAL Pup/Team
This is a great fighting utility knife.
The Seal Pup is the miniature version of the SEAL Team.
Both are exceptionally light for their size, are full tang and the rigid GRN handles feel extremely strong and the diamond textured grip won't slip even when wet.
The knife is also exceptionally well balanced, and powder coated for durability and wear resistance.
I have a SEAL Pup Elite, the rear notching is great for batoning through wood, and for using the spine for thumb placement for carving/shaving wood, but naturally it would be a minor detractor from its combat effectiveness, notches potentially increasing resistance and maybe getting caught in webbing in any thrusting attack.
If you are using it mainly for utility/survival and aren't in a soldier type profession, the SEAL Pup/Team Elite is great, but if you are I would highly recommend the standard version with the combo blade and a 'clean' spine. (like pic related)
