What surplus bolt-action has the best MOA?

GEW98 and Kar98K Mausers?
Short mag Lee Enfields?
M91/30 Nuggets?
T99 Arisakas?
Swiss K31s?
>>
Swiss K31.

Most people will say "Mauser" because it's got a better action, but Swiss K31 owns the longest bolt action open-sights shot ever for a reason.
>>
buy a modern gun if you want accuracy its hasn't been buttfucked by war and conscripts and will shoot ammo you can easily buy but prob Mauser's lockup in the front and well made for the most part
>>
>>30453486
Only problem with K31s is getting ammo for it can be a pain in the ass, and you're going to be paying nearly 90c a shot, even when buying in bulk.

Is the GP11 really drying up that quickly?

When I bought my GP11 it was $0.50 a round.
>>
>>30453570
RELOAD YOU TWATS
It's not fucking rocket science.

>this board is the only board in the entirety of the interwebs where almost no one reloads

You can make match grade 6.5x55 for less than ยข40 a round.

M24-R.

>US army surplus
Still surplus.
>>
>>30453591
They stopped making it in '94. Surplus is gone outside of random shops that still have little caches of it laying about.

Even the Prvi Partizan stuff (which everyone tells me is garbage) is getting hard to find.
>>

Mountain jew reporting in
There is a reason your marked is drying up
Your ammo was that cheap because some fucktard in the administration of the army gave some hundert mio GP11 free for selling them to civilians. They went to the us, canada, germany and some other places.
They tought we would ship more but they quickly recognised they have not much anymore in stock (500-900 mio) and they are still used by the army
So they dont sell them anymore and try to reproduce them...
>>
>>30453654
>still used by the army

For what?
>>
>>30453606
This. The initial cost of reloading is worth the money it will save you in the long run.
>Buy Swedish 6.5x55 blank rounds
>Take out wooden bullet
>Replace gunpowder inside with the powder of your choice, or use what came with the cartridge
>Reload with 6.5 rounds bought from practically any place online such as MidwayUSA
>>
>>30453570
>>30453591
>>30453629
use a gun bot you dumbass shitskins, a new shipment came in for about the same price as it always was and Privi is recommended because it's boxer primed and a hell of a lot easier to reload because of it.

GP11 is just average by modern non surplus standards, you could easily blow it out the water with careful hand loading.
>>
>>30453710
>shits autocorrects to shitskins on my phone
Neat
>>
>>30453710
Not even careful handloading, using a progressive with a decent meter and fine stick or ball powder you can crank out really any bottle necked cartridge to within .2gr on average.
If you're not obsessing over .002gr accuracy in your charge weight it's downright easy to reload.
>>
>>30453629
wrong, they started producing again, since the army needs more for their MG51s

The MG 51, it's still used in the Leopard, Spz 2000 and Eagle

pic related isn't in practise anymore but it shows clearly which gun we copied
>>
>>30453486

GP 11 is in stock at 40-60 cents per round right now. RUAG is making new production runs and reloading is wher it's at anyways.

96/11 with reticle scope and 4x diopter is good to 800 yards with a little practice.

Mauser is a stronger action, but accuracy, metallurgy, and machining precision all belong to the Swiss rifle.

I do use gunbot, and that's how I originally found my GP11 so cheap (this was 2 years ago, however). I also haven't used all my GP11 mainly because I haven't visited the range in so damn long. Someone saying that GP11 was at 90cents a round kinda surprised me because I thought /k/ was familiar with sites like gunbot and gun-deals, but hey, you never know.

>Prvi Partizan (which everyone tells me is garbage)
First time I've heard someone say PPU is bad.
>>
>>30453452
They're all about the same, 2-4 moa is the standard for a general issue infantry rifle. Some will do better, some much worse.
>>
>>30453676
Mg51
And the army is in charge of suplying the ammo for all sport shooters in switzerland
>>
>>30453810
They want to produce it
But tey are not yet capabel of doing so because they dont have the same powder anymore
Some guys are now trying to make new GP11 with the same bullet drop of the old but with new powder
>>
>>30453452
To add to OP's question, how do the Swedish Mausers in 6.5 stack up in the accuracy department up to say 500 yards?
>>
>>30453629
>PPU is bad

This is news to me.
>>
>>30454058
Also asking >>30453606 and >>30453681
>>
>>30453881
It is dirty, but it's been fine in all of my guns as far as plinking is concerned.
>>
>>30454399
PPU is corrosive? This is news to me.
>>
>>30454465
Dirty doesn't mean corrosive, when I shoot PPU 7mm Mauser I do notice a bit more smoke and powder residue in my gun compared to the handloads I make.
>>
>>30453881
>>30454075
I've seen someone claim that PPU was shit in some other thread before. Having actually used PPU in multiple calibers, I find them to be one of the better brands with no failures and decent accuracy so far.

I find them to be rather clean in 9mm, 30 carbine, 303, and 7.5.
>>
>>30454084
I don't know the exact MOA, but they're pretty damn accurate.
>>
Swedish Mausers or K31s in my experience.
>>
>>30454532
PPU has been excellent is every milsurp caliber I've tried it in. I have bought it in .303 and 6.5x55 for years, the brass is excellent quality and milspec in at least the case of the .303.

Loadings are accurate and clean, never had a single failure of out of spec round. 10/10 would stockpile.
>>
>>30454532
I've used PPU 8mm Mauser and it works fantastic.

Both before and after cleaning my bolt.
>>
>>30454058
Solid 1.5-1moa rifles If you have a quality rifle that's been well kept and use consistent ammo.
The x55 round itself is magnificent, some BR guys still use the old warhorse because it just works.

6.5x55 is great
>old school .260
>>
>>30455519
Bro many of those rifles are legit sub moa. I'm not talking about the odd group under moa but consistently.

Get an m/96 with target sights and you feel like there's nothing you can't hit.
>>
>>30453681
I feel like any savings I made with cheaper ammo I would just shoot up anyway.
>>
>>30455655
I agree entirely, they're great rifles. I wish I had never sold mine but I'm still saving the money from that k31 until I find one with diopter sights.
>>30456072
That's the whole point anon, you shoot more with better ammo.
If you're getting into reloading solely to save money you're getting into it for the wrong reason, the savings should really be an afterthought compared to quality and consistency of making your own.
>>
>>30453452
Just bought a SMLE 3* a few weeks ago and brought it out last Sunday. Shit was fucking cool. Smooth recoil and action, didn't hardly kick at all. Sights were pretty well on too at roughly 100 yards. Would recommend for a fellow nugget.
>>
>>30456844
have you considered the Chinese diopter on ebay?
>>
>>30453452
My 1916 Gewehr 98 can go submoa with ppu match, but finding long rifles with very good bores is becoming challenging. I can't vouch for the yugo rifles but I've heard good things about them as well. K31s are nice but 8mm Mauser is far more available. Also if your willing to gamble some 91/30s can be excellent shooters too. With handloads my 1928 and my 1943 are moa rifles.
