Looking at the Smith and Wesson Shield 9mm as my first gun.

How do you feel about it?
Good first pistol?

Want to spend around 400$ on my first, and this hits the nail on the head for price range and quality. Havent heard many negatives of this handgun.

>>30453435

Glock 43 instead
>>
>>30453435
>>30453442
Rent both, buy the one that feels more comfortable to you.

Both are very solid.
>>
>>30453493

M&P trigger leaves much to be desired. glock 43 take up is pretty mushy but the break is nice.
>>
>>30453435
Have both. Prefer the G43.
Shoot them both, you decide.

Not OP
But should I get a cz (was thinking a 75 or a PCR since sp01's are always out of stock) or a glock 19 for my first handgun?
>>
>>30453544
G17/19 is a solid choice, can't go wrong.
>>
>>30453511
Fair point friend, but again there's no reason to try both. Some people just don't like the feel of glocks.
>>
>>30453582
Then you learn to like it you fucking faggot
>>
>>30453544

If you're considering the g19 have you looked at the P-07?
>>
>>30453582

i dont mind the shield i just prefer the 43, id be ok if i was forced to carry a shield for some reason

>>30453590

kill yourself
>>
>>30453590

Check out the nogunz over here.

>>30453590
Yoroshiku, bitch.
>>
>>30453590
While I can appreciate the rabid Glocklove, there is no significant difference dimensionally or functionally between the two. This truly is a preference choice.

>and yes, kill yourself - you are the one giving us Glock fanboys a bad rep.

Cry more bitch.
>>
>>30453435
sig p320 is better but the shield is a good first gun.
>>
>>30453743
Your mom never loved you.
Deal with it.
>>
I'm gonna get a 1911 as my first such a beautiful gun man but everyone bashes stainless
>>
>>30453601
I haven't looked at the P-07 yet, but I'll look into it

>>30453548
Yeah. They shoot pretty well from when I've rented and they're pretty solid choices, its just that imo they're ugly as sin
>>
>>30453728

>i only own one gun and im so insecure i have to rabidly shitpost about it whenever i have the chance

>being this asspained over two guns that are largely the same

>not being able to appreciate more than one gun brand
>>
>>30453775
>its just that imo they're ugly as sin
Are you buying a tool to possibly defend your life, or something to frame and hang on the wall?
>>
>>30453775

this tbqh senpai >>30453794
>>
>>30453794

I would hang it on the wall, but your mom's pictures take up so much space.
>>
>>30453435
I have the .40 shield and the glock 43 and they're both alright. My beef with the shield is it comes in a cardboard box. At least glock give you an $8 plastic case with foam.

>>30453511
>M&P trigger leaves much to be desired.
standard only not the performance center model.

It's fine, but a subcompact isn't going to be the easiest thing for a newbie to shoot, I recommend you start with the M&P Compact or a Glock 19, they're more on the compact side while being easier to shoot.

>>30453511
Can be swapped, personally it doesn't bother me.

>>30453590
Shut your face.
>>
>>30453981
>>30454080

ironic because thats the same argument glock fanboys make about anything wrong with glocks

in reality there is no perfect pistol for anyone. im >>30453603 i dont mind M&P's just prefer glocks
>>
>>30453912
>>
>>30453511
All the time, all these complaints that a 2.9" subcompact carry gun doesn't have a match grade trigger. If I have to shoot someone ever with my shield it's going to be at like 5 feet in the stomach.
>>
Check out the PPS M2.

It's got a better trigger than the shield and the glock, and has less muzzle flip.
>>
>>30456949
There's that, also the possibility of never getting your gun back if you had to use it. I chose a Shield for my EDC because it's a good gun and I can afford to replace it after worst case scenario I almost die and have to use it.
>>
>>30453435
ive had one for about a month now and I like it.
Very small and comfortable to hold. I honestly thought id hate the trigger but I dont. Although I dont have much experience shooting handguns to compare it to.

Id say go for it, depending on where you are you can get it for a bit less than $400, Its also a very popular gun so even if you get it and dont like it you can probably sell it for close to what you paid in the first place.
>>
Shield is cheaper and has higher capacity out of the box. My first handgun is my shield and I do not regret it at all.

That said, the glock 43 is by all accounts great. I don't feel getting a glock would be a bad choice.
>>
>>30453435
>How do you feel about it?

Love mine. It's very enjoyable to shoot for its size. Have yet to install my Apex kit in it.

>Good first pistol?

I would recommend getting something bigger as a first pistol then a Shield for carry.
