offsets center the weight which makes the rifle point a bit nicer and moves the barrel shadow to cast at your feet instead of on your left or right depending on which side your mount is on. offset mounts look good too.

1:7 allows shorter barrels to stabilize longer bullets like 77gr and it handles 55gr just fine with the average 14.5/16" barrels.

They're good on shotguns, so why not rifles? I like it because it's cheaper than the PA Micro Dot and no batteries. No doubt that PA makes a good cheap red dot. But I remember when I first saw the See All I was intrigued. It would even make a good backup on an offset mount.

Ten pmags arrived in the mail today. I'm half tempted to order ten more. That was really impressive shipping. Two days for just a flat $6.

Also my sling arrived in the mail yesterday. I've never actually used a sling before though so are there any caveats to setting it up properly. It's convertible from two to one point. When it's a two point should both contact points be on the left side of the rifle if I am a right handed shooter?

From all the research I've done they're all about the same thing and pretty much guaranteed to work. I think the major reason people push going to a lawyer is if you need to make changes later on or there's any dispute about beneficiaries/inheritance if the principal dies.
>>
>>30453243

I wouldn't want it for precision work which is why I explicitly stated that I shot it on a subgun. A shotgun would be fine but, again, I wouldn't want it for anything more than shooting plates with a subgun.

I had a 1:9 DPMS 16" barrel that will shoot circles around my 1:7 BCM barrel with 55gr match ammo. After putting all types of ammo through the 1:8 on my precision gun I'm pretty convinced that's the most utilitarian twist out there, no reason not to get it if given the option and you are not shooting a short carbine.
>>
>>30453160
Yo d60, I bought a couple of boxes of ammo for my martini and I'm bringing it to the meetup in nor ga this month. 122$ for 20 rounds. I'm definitely buying some dies for it today. If they're in by the time the meetup rolls around I'll bring my press and the dies and some brass and let people reload.
I'll let you shoot my martini if you let me shoot your ar. That thing looks badass.
>>
>>30453321
Now the question is, was it the twist or the barrel construction that e ffected the groups.

My last noveske barrel shot 50gr into almost 1moa and it was 1:7

>>
>>30453337
Given the 1:7's performance with heavier ammo and the fact the DPMS barrel was literal bottom barrel offering I'm leaning towards the twist. Not saying 1:7 is incapable, just curious why it became the go-to for the civilian market when 1:8 covers the wider spectrum of common ammo.

Listen man, I've had about a dozen optics on just my 14.5, including Aimpoints, Trijicons and EOTechs. You've got an ample amount of retarded shit in your post there that I won't address specifically as the sperg mass is sure to.

As a matter of fact, most of the MRO hate I see is coming from Aimpoint die hards justifying their T1/T2/H1 price tag by shitting on the competition with bad information.

It varies from 1.1x to 1.25x. I'm sure someone has done a ruler test, but I can't find one posted online, and I'm not diving through that 60 page Arfcom thread about the issue

"5 years at setting 3 of 6" according to https://www.trijicon.com/na_en/support/faq_MRO.php which is 43,800 hours, or "25 days" at setting 5 of 6.

Compared to 50,000 hours at setting 8 of 10 or 10 months at setting 10 of 10 for a T1. So...yeah. Between 3% and 1200% worse battery life depending on the setting.
>>

They're all known and verified issues.

And you're right about the MRO hate. I don't hate it, in fact if you'd take the cock out of your mouth for half a second you'd notice I specifically said it's a good optic for the price.

>>30453923

Hey you animals.

Is there any point to getting a raw lower anodized before cerakote-ing it? Won't they just blast off the anodization anyway?

Does the strength and wear resistance of type 3 anodizing outweigh the aesthetics of cerakote?

Is US Anodizing the most reliable company to outsource your anodizing to? Heard horror stories of people anodizing at home.
>>
>>30453988
I'm referring to 1.25x being a bullshit number. I've had 1.25-4x optics and the MRO isn't remotely close.

The battery life...how would anyone know? I've had it on setting 4 since I pulled it out of the box and it's going strong. Doesn't Trijicon advertise a 3-5 year battery life on settings 3-4?

Assload of paralax...that's retarded. It's got similar paralax to any quality red dot or holographic sight I've used. I bet you're one of those people who think Aimpoints are legitimately 100% "paralax free."

I still own a comp m2 and an a T1. They are both sitting in their boxes in the safe for the time being.

Geissele didn't state a start time, just that it would last friday to Monday. Just assume it'll start midnight est friday.

Last time it ran for like, 2 weeks?, and they would sometimes randomly up date at like 3am. The trend was ar rails sell out first, then triggers, then other rails and triggers, then tools don't sell out at all.

By limiting the time to just 4 days this time, I'm guess once something is sold out, it's sold out. Seems like they aren't implementing a limit this time either

Also, there isn't any...."beginner" AR's. Functionally the guts are all the same, it just depends on all the Gucci components you plan to add / change.

If you're just wanting a beater truck gun you can put a red dot or something on, get a pre built and some mags. If you are after Gucci / customization, build.

I shot a full-sized rifle with a holographic scope, and then a M&P-15 at the range the other day. I can already say one of the first things I'm going to do is buy a holographic sight system for it, then maybe extend the gun out to a mid-length size
