For some reason the stock on the scar ruins it for me, also I dont think the gun looks pretty, its just a bit to tall imo, it looks bigger than it needs to be, I like an ar-15. Idk about the 300blk part unless you are going to be putting a silencer on it, but do as you please

Why not? If you're ok with a regular AR, and you'd also rather something larger, then an AR10 is literally the best solution.
With the Scar, you're dishing out hard-earned shekels mostly for the name. There is nothing that beats the AR aftermarket, so you can customize your AR10 to be whatever the fuck you want.
Otherwise, I'd go with your second option, an AR and a boltgun. More guns are better than fewer guns.

Confirmed for never shooting a SCAR. it's one thing to be a poorfag, but it's another to spew absolute bullshit like this. I have an AR 10 and SCAR 17 both, and it's not unlike comparing a fucking Z06 Corvette to a base Camaro. The SCAR 17 is accurate, light, has much better recoil impulse and shoots like shooting 5.56, and is much easier to takedown, clean and maintain. It's everything a modern rifle should be, thus the cost.

Persoanlly If I had 5-7 k, i'd get one hell of a nice bolt action, but that's just because it's what I like.
If you want a Scar-17 go for it, but know you could build some nice AR-10/15's for the same cost and a decent bolt gun with mediocre optics on both.
I vote the spend ~ 3 k on the weapon, 1.5 on the optics, and the rest in ammo.

What utter nonsense. I've shot a scar 17 and the recoil was entirely comparable to the AR10. Accuracy is the same, weight is the same unless you got some DMR-style 20lb AR10 with shit bolted all over it, recoil is the same (it definitely doesn't feel like 5.56), and cleaning/maintenance is a non-issue because if you find an AR pattern rifle difficult to take down and clean, you have no business handling firearms.

...I ended up buying (ordering) a SCAR 17s today. I got a really good deal for $2,650 (plus tax). Got it in FDE. I got to handle the display and I really liked it. Stoked to get it out to the range.
I've also got a single stage press. I just need some additional stuff & I'll be reloading.

Also, if you're going to be doing any high-volume shooting in the near future, be prepared to buy a progressive press. Making bulk plinking ammo on a single stage will make you want to kill yourself. On the upside, you can dedicate the single stage to whatever your bolt action will use when you eventually get one, and use the progressive for all your other shit.
